great pictures! i really miss that edmonton of my youth. when i was a kid back in the ‘70s, i used to imagine what the city would be like in 50 years. now here it is 50 years later. sometimes when i’m walking around downtown, it’s like i’m in awe seeing the city though that past child’s eyes. of course the difference is back then, after imagining the future, i would be right back in the early ‘70s…now i’m forever stuck in the future, ie, today.

Hi dw, Thanks for watching, for your kind words, and for sharing your memories. I'm glad you liked the video and appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Those of us who lived through the good old days remember them fondly but, at least, we're still around. Cheers, tassiebaz. 😁

Should have said that the pic at 6:42 , ESSO was kitty corner to SAFEWAY(Northeast corner while ESSO was on the Southwest corner). South of this corner was where you could catch Route 6 from "Oliver" to Downtown if you were like SOME of the smokers back then who would jump off of Route 1 or 2 from Jasper Place Terminal. I bet I could recall ALL of the routes that touched that intersection up until 1990. lol.

@@tassiebaz well I have AUTISM. I can recall places in a split second. I can even POSSIBLY tell you what time of day the picture was taken. Lol. THAT is how good my memory is for a 47 year old. Oh, the bus was actually going to the south side garage. How do I know this? Well it broke down June 14 1978 with my Grandma and I on it. The time of day was 11:28 am that we got on this bus(just AFTER the picture was taken) just around the corner on 101 St. It broke down on 101 and just before Jasper. I had to think for a second of where the Drivers side rope busted. lol.

@3:15 that is between 95th st and 96 st. @3:59 that looks more like 111 and 95st @5:41 the huge Traffic Circle at 105st and River Rd. Boy I miss it @6:21 when Saskatchewan Dr. was still two way traffic and not Fu*ked up by Bike Lanes @7:02 when 102 wasn't Fu*ked up by bike lanes and LRT @7:09 when Jasper Ave, wasn't Fu*ked up by Lane Closures and Unneededly Wide Sidewalks @8:03 that's not 118 ave and 124 st, nor is it 118st and 124 ave @8:20 107 and 121st, Imperial Homes Building became Discount Jim's Furniture, part of the Brick @8:50 I think that's 115 and Fort Rd @9:18 An old Ed Tel van behind the bus @10:24 That's 97 st but it looks like 102 ave. It looks like the Army and Navy Store above the Bus. and what looks like the Train Overpass way back there @13:14 I remember that Location. It was where I would make a Transfer from the N9 to the #5. There was some chain of Supermarket there. I think it was Dominion Foods @14:09 That was taken 1/2 block South of my Great Uncle's. Both he and the his house are Gone @14:20 I believe that is 115ave and 81st @16:07 When Jasper ave at 109st was a Rd that wasn't choked by lane blocking Sidewalk extensions and Ping Pong Tables @18:01 The Fu*king Up of Jasper Ave

Hi Garnett M, Thanks for watching. I don't mind one little bit that more people will have the opportunity to know about this. KZitem provides a method for sharing that I never could have imagined when I took the pictures almost 50 years ago, so the more people that want to see it, the happier I am. Thanks again and stay well. Regards, tassiebaz.

Hi @@GarnettM, No, I am not monetized. I just viewed a YT video about it, and it appears I have recently reached a threshold where I could possibly qualify. I'll have to look more into it and learn more about requirements and benefits.. Thanks. Regards, tassiebaz.

Hi @@GarnettM, Thanks. I don't have the monetize option. From what I read, I have to apply to have this option, meet certain criteria, and be accepted. I'll have a closer look to see if it is something I want to do. Regards, tassiebaz.
