Aside from the collectors value or for nostalgia's sake, I've never understood paying a premium price for a old/vintage fragrance. I've had some myself that have changed for the worse over the years. I know a good deal about storing and keeping them, but there's no guarantee whoever is selling hasn't had them in a garage, attic, or window sill for ages. Love the raiders website as well as Kouros!

This is a great point. People pay a lot for bottles, but they don't know how it was stored over that time. Maybe ebay has a really lax return policy?

Episode 1, the greatest scent ever made. Only down from here. It's to be worn in warm weather (the ads), preferably after a shower. Anything Pre-sanofi is the good stuff. Kouros is very hard to spoil. Casual scent, suit scent, signature scent, whatever you want. Women could pull it off easily imo. And you sound like Vince Gallo.

I haven't smelled the Kouros scent since the late 1980s when I was a young man of about 20. Now I am 57 years old and I couldn't remember the scent exactly. Except that I loved this scent and used it far too often as my favorite scent. Azzaro was the other one favorite. I kinda forgotten Kouros al together not even knowing it is still on the market. Never even looked for it online. I ordered the current "variant" of Kouros this week. After seeing some reviews, I got afraid that one day this fragrance would no longer be sold. I have not been disappointed. Although this scent is said to have changed slightly. I don't notice the difference. I can't compare it with the 'original' anymore but for me it was a very pleasant recognition. Either way the current version is as great as I can remember the scent. Delicious. I will probably order a few more that I will keep far back under in my closet. Too bad that even the bottle is no longer exactly the same as it was in the 1980s. One thing I don't get. Why do some people think it smell's bad? Because I can't stop smelling it again and again, and again. after so many years and I still love it. It's great!

Compared to modern, popular fragrances today, Kouros is very different. People often associate scents with memories, and you have fond memories of Kouros. Most people can't relate to that. I'm glad you like the current version, and I think most people wouldn't know the difference in formulas. I do think that it could be discontinued soon or in the next decade. Might as well get a backup bottle if you like it so much.

Hi Steve! Greetings from the u.k! What a great video😊 I must have visited raidersofthelostscent a hundred times but it's great to hear it spoken.what a fantastic bargain you landed there👌I have a decent collection of vintage Kouros (no modern )but I usually pay substantially more than you did! I'm 48 years old now and I guess my dad turned me onto Kouros as I used to use his whenever possible and I've been using it and collecting it ever since..Love it! Thanks for the video mate.great stuff👍

Love this comment! Thanks for dropping by. Raiders made me really interested in this stuff. Whenever I see a vintage Kouros, I try to grab it. I don't wear it often, as I have so many others to choose from, but I love the history of it and every now and again I enjoy one (or two, but not more!) sprays of vintage Kouros.

dear Stephen just discovered your channel today!. I 'm Andre's brother, (the creator of "Raiders of the Lost Scent" blog ) and , together with my family members, we wanted to thank you so much for remembering the work my brother has done over the years. I'm sure he would have appreciated it very much. Thank you,

HI! I LOVE your blog and the work your brother did. I always talk about "Raiders" on my channel. It's one of the inspirations of my fragrance journey and this KZitem channel. I hope Andre can add more to the blog, such as he did recently with the new Jean Paul Gaultier information. There are many brands, such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Creed, etc. that many people would want to learn about the history of their fragrances. In addition, many of the photos on the website no longer appear and need to be fixed. Thank you so much for commenting here. ~Stephen

I neither hate it nor love it lol- I've reviewed many of the vintage formulations. This stuff is truly BIZARRE for 2 distinct reasons- 1. It smells like buttery floral sweet Jasmine flowers. 2. It *literally* and I mean literally smells like butt sweat. That intriguing scent you get (you know weve all done it) when you itch your ass crack and smell your own scent- that scent is exactly replicated into kouros. My nose is advanced enough to not confuse that pissy scent with jasmine (jasmine always does this) but that butt scent is REAL butt scent- this is incredibly disturbing to me. Its one of those fragrances where you are like- what just happened? Earliest formulas are more sweet and buttery and 90s formulas are more aromatic and spicy - Late Sanofi 90s bottles are my fav. This is literally in my nightstand with my condoms and sleeping pills- thats how afraid I am of it and sinful this scent smells to me. I will probably NEVER wear this around anyone EVER.

My butt smells closer to poo than this 😅! While I recognize this is a love/hate thing for most....I'd say most people hate it. Very few of us out there who appreciate and love it.

smelling dated is what makes it smell niche. most people who were born after the late 90's will think it's a niche fragrance that is probably very expensive.

Hi there. I have current formulation of Kouros without metal shoulders and Azzaro Pour Homme 2016 batch code. Vintage Azzaro and Kouros Perfume Corp are expensive. Are significant different than current ones? My vintage Polo Cosmair edition is much better than current formulation of Polo. What's about Kouros and Azzaro? Thanks man

Haven't tried Boss number 1 yet. I just checked the fragrantica on it. It looks like a classic fougere type, so you have to be into those old school fragrances to appreciate them. They can't be compared to the modern stuff popular now.
