I know SCM has family studies and individual studies. I do not see individual studies for high school age students. Do you have recommendations for high school subjects such as English Literature beyond book lists attached to History?

Hi, Great question! You are correct, SCM does not have published “Individual Studies” guides beyond 8th grade, however there are recommendations through high school. For high school you can find SCM’s recommendations for the individual subjects here: simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/individual-graded-subjects/ Click on the drop down for your student’s grade level and you will see all of the recommended resources for the individual subjects for the high school grades as well as links to those resources. To create a plan for your high schooler as you mentioned you would also use the recommended resources from your chosen History/Bible/Geography guide (both the books under family and the grade level of your student) and the enrichment guide that you choose to use that year. You will notice that SCM has literature recommendations for high school in the enrichment guides. You can see a list of all of the literature recommendations here by grade level: simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/literature/ Additionally, just as a heads up, SCM is in the process of revising all of the “Enrichment Studies” guides. One of the included changes will be to continue the “Great Book Discussions” series and provide more resources to guide the discussion of great literature in high school. You can see the books in this series that are currently available here: simplycharlottemason.com/search-results/?q=great%20book&tab=products&page=1&rb_categories=Literature Thanks for your question! Please reach out with any additional questions you may have!
