Some of these comments in here are exactly why there’s a shortage. Y’all mistake teachers to babysitters. Parents need to STEP UP and be involved with their kids!
@stephenanderson1594
10 ай бұрын
The reason kids are heavily influenced by social media because parents are not engaged with their kids especially teenagers. Parents are so busy wanting their kids to like them rather than being parents (not all). A kid can have all Fs ,100 absences, multiple suspensions, and unanswered calls and emails home to parents then when the school tell the parents you're kid is not graduating then parents want to get mad at the school. Honestly the biggest threat to America is uneducated youth. Banned books and topics in schools are useless when we have the internet.

Teachers are vitally important. Im 67 years old and still remember my teachers from kindergarten on up, lol! They each made an impression. Of course i was fortunate. I grew up on a farm and went to a rural grade school with small classrooms. Teachers knew our parents, our classmates families knew each other. Bullying was unheard of. My brother closest to me in age was never diagnosed but im certain was ADHD. Teachers worked closely with him and others like him. He didnt hear phrases like, "why arent you more like your sister?". He was held back one year but this was discussed first with my parents. They agreed that it was in his best interest. It was not discussed...he wasnt ridiculed. It just was. A very long way of saying teachers are so important in the lives of their students and need the support of parents. As a parent, i had a problem with one teacher of my youngest daughter in her freshman year of high school. I didnt discuss it with my daughter. I tried to talk one on one with the teacher. She was unwilling to talk to me. She left me no choice but to go to administration. I discovered i wasnt the first nor only parent with a concern. My daughter finished the year. It was a foreign language class. To my chagrin, we allowed her to no longer pursue the class the following year as this teacher was the only one in the school district and there was no getting along with her. Otherwise, ive been fortunate to always find teachers agreeable to discussion about my childrens needs and my daughters say the same about my grandchildren. I have a masters degree and found professors equally willing to set aside time to answer questions or discuss concerns of mine. Thank God for the teaching profession.

Nearly $250 just to apply with no guarantee of employment (no reimbursement) and most of the fees (State Creds and Live Scan) are from the government end. Such fees were waived for Covid cause there was an "Urgency". Yet when the same urgency for educators is present now, that is the price to pay, which makes it seem as if its fake. If there is such an emergency why not find a way to lessen this financial obstacle to potential educators? It makes it seem as if the "emergency" isn't urgent at all. Try Harder

@darristhomas5602 Sure... but you ignored my question. The teacher had to control a class of 30 kids, and you were disrupting the opportunity for 29 kids to learn. What is your solution? I am not being combative, but the other 29 kids had a right for you to be removed if you were constantly disrupting their class time.

Florida banning sexually explicit books in children's libraries. Teach Afro American history without faulty premises on current affairs.
