Yes they can definitely get extremely annoying especially when they get very clingy. And their screeching is almost unbearable sometimes. But I can't imagine not having them around. And just knowing I was able to give them the love they never had makes it much easier to tolerate 💕

I do have one question please. I cant get my bird to do his poo in the cage where he only goes to sleep. He will wait all night until I let him out and then deliberately make his way from my hand to the kitchen sink where he deposits a third of his bodyweight down the plug hole. Why is this and should I correct it. I dont like him caged up so as soon as I'm up he's out and has freedom of our fairly spacious house for at least 14 hours. He has no problems leaving me little packages to cleanup during free time, many on my wife to her annoyance. Am I doing something wrong. He was hand reared an then came straight to me as soon as he was ready. Thank you. 👍😄

I have 2 Conure’s but I’m beginning to invest in yet another! I have a yellow sided green cheek and a cinnamon turquoise green cheek. But I figured I’d look into the suns or jendays, my cinnamon is very attached to me and just hates everyone else, lol while my yellow sided is a tad more social while still being nippy to others it just depends. Do your suns enjoy new company or are they mean to new comers? I know that every Conure is very social and love to be out I can’t live without mine! But I know lots wanna touch and pet them and I’m just always giving a forewarning.

I'm just now seeing this video. I love Conures! They're beautiful and fun! And I understand that you couldn't take the baby bird with the splayed legs, because there's only so much one person can do. Seeing how close Pepe, Lola and Diego are, I can't help but feel sad for the other baby of theirs. Do you know what happened to their other baby with the splayed legs? Thank you for sharing the videos and for the lesson in caring for Conures. About a year ago I fell in love with a Sun Conure at the pet store...I've never had a bird before so wasn't sure I would know how to take care of it, so I didn't get it. And after hearing you tell of all that goes into it, I think I made the right decision, because he would've been an only bird. Which I've learned from this video, would've meant a lonely bird.

@sharynzoo
Жыл бұрын
Not all birds get along, but I would just play with them outside the cage together on neutral ground. If they like each other they will eventually find their way to one another and then you could put them in the same house. But of course that may not happen. But I think they'll wind up getting along.

Don’t clip your birds wings, PLEASE. Take the EXTRA time to learn and train your bird. Every single concern, accident, loss and death has already been mitigated and addressed by other parrot owners. I followed the NEW research and training methods and I’ve been (surprisingly) successful in teaching my Suncheek Conures to free fly outdoors in the city of Los Angeles. I have an 8 week red factor sun Conure I’m currently training for free flight. While free flying your parrot at liberty or for sport is not for everyone - LEARNING the newest information about parrot care (mental and physical) is part of proper husbandry. A parrot that cannot fly (you and it) will have to work harder to build its confidence and skill. Do it right the first time and don’t disable your bird by clipping. #birdtricks #parrotwizard #adventuresofroku #chrisbiro #engagenotcage #engagednotcage

You don’t “have to” use the leg identification braclets. It’s optional. It just helps identify birds whom are lost, stolen, or kept in large groups. But that parts not a law. At least not in NY. In NY it’s only required to have the breeding license. What state are you from? You’re birds are amazing by the way🥰

i have a question because my mom is adamant that our late bird Peanut was called a Sunday conure. is even such thing like my mom says. he def looked more like Jenday conure i tried a google search and all shown for sunday conure said sun or jenday so clicked on Jenday. i guess my mom can think what she wants i am not wanting a war lol. just curious. He my bird passed away euthanasia in apr 2019 due to a bad fall he lived for 2 weeks but also found out when he under for an x ray two heart condtions. my bird had no need of vet care until then. he would have been 25 that april. i really miss him he could be nippy but way less than the dog we had. he only loved our 4 person family so he was less nippy. he had a ton of green in him. oh his screeching so loud. still miss my baby he was just few months old and i was 12 in 1994 when we got him. he in good moods would give us kisses. i miss him too esp for bit after did house sitting for my parents and well we had a dog but she passed away in 2015 so it was so too quiet at my mom's. the times when he would get mad he would fluff up and shake side to side and bang his beak against the cage. my dumb butt ex well one of them i told him not stick his fingers in the cage or on it and that he will bit and it will hurt. i praised my bird though a grown man should known better like uhm yeah my bird looks like he love you banging his beak on cage smh. the ex tried yelling at my bird told as then boyfriend told him to shut his mouth and gave him a bandaid and antibiotic ointment and told him to fix himself up and to stop crying. like i warn you do not yell at my bird for not wanting be poked at defending himself. enough on story. my bird really loved eating peanuts lol his name sake. we would buy bags of the shelled ones his favorite thing to use beak and he would eat the peanuts inside. changing his water could get pretty interesting(gross) had change it 4 times a day esp if he decided take a bath. he would sneeze a lot during bath time get water up his nose and he prefered cold water wouldn't bath or drink warm water all year. i swear he said hi and hello once in his life. we tried bird train talk tapes to play while we out of house esp he never really caught on. in winter we had blanket over his cage and on coldest nights we would move his cage to couch away from drafty window. he used to torment our dog too like it was funny but like not he could got hurt if he kept up. they used to stare at each other like food. he also when grumpy would get mad at his food and start lifting his dish also did when he needed new food 2x a day but he would so throw food with his beak we had vaccum area on floor few times day. lol the dog used to eat the bird seed that fell on floor such a weirdo. anyway we had him cremated just like our dog and i get the urns when my parents pass on not to be morbid. christmas 2019 my mom and i swear we heard him squawk. was a comforting feeling for us. in neighborhood where my parent's live we not allowed to bury our pets. bit late to get another bird since they can like live til 30. i used to collect his tail feathers that fell out every so often they were so pretty.

@sarahasbury6608

At least 100% louder. Here's how you tell: You google the latin name. And with conures only.(maroon tailed parakeets are included in this.) If the genus[the first word.] Is "pyrrruah"(sp?) They're in a quieter genus. If it's aratinga("little macaw" they're in the louder genus and just walk away! If you can't handle a ton of noise.

I observe them & I can figure it out. Otherwise you need to have them DNA tested.

4:50 ish you gave false/incorrect info. Maybe at some point banding was an always things but it varies place to place now and some breeders don't do it bc the metal bands can get things caught in them causing a dangerous situation for the bird. Visit the breeders facilities and/or check reviews before buying from a breeder. And ask questions. And also they're called species of birds not breeds. Important distinction. Otherwise this is a good video that I've not finished yet and your animals are adorable.
