Somewhere below someone commented it's only the music that makes this scene work..WRONG! This was truly the first time Kim saw Edward for what he was. Misunderstood and someone who only sees the beauty in the world. The "snow" he creates as Kim dances in it is to show one thing only..innocence. Edward doesn't know she's even there and Kim is in her own little world at the moment.. As beautiful as Edward thought Kim was, now it's Kims turn to see just how beautiful he is. ^.^ the music is only a bonus. THIS was the moment Kim fell in love with Edward..Annnd THAT is why this scene works!

David Pierdomenico Burton is a director of a tremendous scope in quality. His works range from masterpieces through very good, good, mediocre and disappointing. He is a genius (because only a genius can conjure up a scene like this, and so many others) but his genius doesn't always break through. But a genius is permanent, so all that remains is to wait for another break-through. It is coming!

Maria Papadopoulou - Pretty sure it's possible to disagree with someone without turning into a hateful little monster. If you love this movie, try not to be like the villains in it. And yeah, I'd say this hate culture that tells people to kill themselves over small and silly disagreements is a lot like the hate culture that springs up in Edward Scissorhands. Not everyone is immune to that kind of crap. Think before you post.

This scene is truly one of a kind. The way the snow mists around everywhere, and how she enters it. How she doesn't dance, but more moves to her fluttering heartbeat. Caressing her face and smiling and enjoying herself. How Edward, oh Edward, the tortured genius focuses only on his craft. Scissoring away. The music. Oh wow. The music. How can we even comprehend it. It is so mesmerizing. This scene makes me cry because of its sheer beauty. Thank you Tim Burton.

This scene makes me always cry. It’s makes me think of the wonder a child has. It makes me think how we are all going to die someday. Everyone I love right now, will die someday. The culture we live in will change. The music and the actors will change. Movies like these will be considered antique. We will all age and we won’t be able to get that time back. I can’t bare the pain of being elderly. Elderly people miss their friends. They miss their movie stars. They miss their time. They miss their parents. Enjoy your life folks. We are all going to end up the same way. Live your life to the fullest.

The perfect movement of the camera as Kim literally so gracefully glides into the frame as the music swells at 0:34…. it’s shot in such a way that you feel completely swept away with her into the most dream-like whimsical world of fantasy, beauty and innocence…. it’s truly one of my favourite and most beautiful sequences ever put to film. I need only hear the melody and I can picture this whole thing in my head and naturally every time I see snow I too just want to hear the music in my head and dance away… just getting caught up in the simple beauty of it all… some times things that are real and tangible truly are magical we just need take our time to show and love and wonder for them all… I think that’s what this scene is about more than anything… just stopping to truly soak in the magic and beauty in the simple things in life, yes it’s about her seeing the goodness and beauty in Edward but it’s equally represented in her simple awe for the snow falling. For the first time it’s not just snowfall, but she feels part of a magical world: there’s so much beauty in the world if only we open our eyes to see it…

What a wonderful film, one of the most beautiful and melancholic music in history, atmospheres like this no longer exist today. Perfect and tragic 🖤🤍❄️☄️

A truly beautiful moment in cinema history. A great song and a wonderful snow effect for Winona to dance in. Truly inspirational and hauntingly beautiful. Joe S.
