Thanks for your encouraging comment Anil. I'm planning more videos, hopefully future videos won't need as many takes as it took me to complete this one!

Hello, thank you for the video. Is there any way you could provide some additional instructions on the reconciliation items spreadsheet you created?
@datatodividends
Күн бұрын
Hi Maya, thanks for watching and sorry for the slow response. The spreadsheet is not very complicated. It is using an Excel Table which helps the formulas and formatting to copy down as new rows are added. It also uses conditional formatting to grey out cells that aren't relevant depending on other selections (just setting the text and background to the same grey colour). The last part is using drop down list so that only certain values can be chosen using a drop down - this is done using Data Validation (Data > Data Validation), then in validation criteria choose 'List' and in Source enter a comma delimited list of the drop down items. I hope that helps.

Hi Leonardo, thank you, so pleased you enjoyed the video. I presume you mean the PBIX for the final demo of the reconciliation report? I'm not able to share that unfortunately. I do intend to do some more videos explaining some of the techniques used in that report - for example how to read the reconciling items from Excel (using Power Automate) which is not widely covered online. If there are other aspects of the report you would like me to cover then please do ask.

Thanks for your comment Danny and for subscribing. A few people have asked me to do some design based videos - I've tended away from that as there are already several amazing people producing a lot of Power BI design content. There seems to be a demand for it though, I'll have to think how to structure it to make a good / useful video. Thanks for your input.
