I adore that one. So touching. My grand-grandpa used to talk Yiddish when I was little. He raised me and taught me to read and count when I was 3. He had studied in Minsk in a Jewish school. Thanks to people of Belarus for their good attitude towards Jews

The singer's last name is a variation of my mom's family name, which is spelled Charney, Cherny and Chorny. From Ukraine. Possibly descended from the Chernobyl Chassidim. Perhaps a long-lost relative? My Bubbie of blessed memory used to sing this song.

Actually you may be related, he was born in Moldova to a family that was Jewish and musical.His grandfather, parents and siblings all sang Yiddish songs.
