Thanks for sharing Jeff. What a battery bank! One thing I've noticed with SA is that when you have your batteries hooked in, I believe SA just takes the average SOC from all battery banks. So if you have a couple that aren't charging all the way up, that might be the reason you're only seeing your system charge up to 90%. As you were panning over the batteries, it looked like the "Run" light was solid on your working batteries but it was blinking on pack 1. Not sure if that means anything or not. I guess one thing I might try would be switching the address on that pack to something else and see if anything changes. I'll be interested to see what you find out when you end up hooking up your laptop to that pack. Would be nice if SA had access to the log data as well. Good luck!

I like the way you set up your solark 15k's. I just got mine and am planning positioning. I have a few questions. Any advantages of using the rails you have for mounting your Solar15ks to the wall? I put up 3/4 plywood and backer board. I am going to mount my bypass, then a Solark to the right of it and plan on getting a second 15k next year. Also how long is the 1" 1/2" and 1" 1/4" emt to your set screws? I just ordered a 12"x12"x72"wireway for this project.

Hey Bob. In an earlier video back in December I go over why I mounted these on the strut. I also discuss the hole layouts and conduit lengths. I have limited vertical space so I had to pay particular attention to not make the conduits too long. I think they were 5 1/2”.

Jeff, are all your battery banks connected to one buss bar? I have 13 EG4’s and had the same issue until I hooked all my battery banks together on one buss bar. I used 2 Victron “Lynx distributors” bridged together and now they are perfect. I liked this set up because I added an extra over volt fuse with the Lynx. I am using 5 Growatt 5000es ( I know you didn’t have luck with them) 2 Growatt transformers, 13 batteries and 23.4 KW of Canadian Solar panels. We are all electric too here West of Atlanta and we rarely go on grid. I mostly try to use the power I make but normally by 12:30 my battery’s are full. Time for an elecric truck GL

Thanks. I’ll check into the victron bars. Did you run a separate cable from each rack to the lynx distributor? I’m considering an EV as well. Sunny days I’m able to generate more than I can use and store. Got the wife running the AC down to 64F just to use the excess power. If I had receive better tech support I might have stayed with the Growatts. But every issue I had tech support would drag it out for months till I finally said enough and replaced them with the Sol-arks.

I have three 48-volt EG4-LL Version one batteries talking to Victron Cerbo-GX, and I have noticed the same behavior. I am not using a bus bar, but all the batteries have the same cable length to positive and negative terminals. The master battery charges to 99% SOC, followed by 95% and 93% for the 2nd and 3rd batteries. I have noticed that the batteries with lower SOC enter the standby mode and stop charging. I want to say that it is related to communication and the BMS. I plan to remove the communication cables between the batteries and Cerbo-GX and just let the Victron smart shunt control the charging. Will Prowse should stop promoting the EG4 products.

Just curious. What would happen, if you turn off that problem battery, disconnect from the buss bar, then use it as a single battery, mini-system with it's on small charge controller and inverter or 48v load? Where it's just not in the large system at all. If the battery begins to cycle at that point...

good afternoon. seems youre happy with the function of the sol-ark inverters. am i correct to believe, that 2 of these units wired in parallel are able to carry a 120 amp load? that would be 62 amps from each unit-(according to the specs)?
@jeffmotes2129
Жыл бұрын
They’ve worked well for me. Sol-arks have multiple ratings. This is my understanding of the ratings 12kw when solely pulling power from the batteries 15kw when pulling from batteries and PV 48kw when in bypass mode. These are line to line ratings. Line to neutral would be half the above. Two units in parallel would be double the above. When using battery only with two Sol-ark 15k units -> 24kw = 100A @ 240V With PV and battery -> 30kw = 125A @ 240V In bypass - 96kw = 400A @240V There are other ratings if you use DC or AC coupling.
