I baked this today in the oven with a slight modification to the recipe, used almond milk instead of cashew milk, used half a cup of jaggery and roughly half cup of chopped dates. Before putting it in the oven also added chopped almonds. Cake turned out really moist and tasty 😊😋

I made two versions of this cake, both with slight variations, it turned out to be good both the times. Thank you for the recipe. My first version had this: Self rising flour, instead of kapli wheat flour. Ordinary salt instead of pink Himalayan salt. Sunflower oil instead of woodpressed coconut oil. Didn't use nutmeg because I didn't have it. Reduced the quantity of jaggery. In the second version, I replaced half cup of flour with cocoa powder and also added chocolate chips.

I have a tiny oven but I still prefer stovetop for baking cakes and pizza....I think it's a personal bias. FYI Pizza made on the stovetop utensil/oven tastes way better

I tried this today and it turned out delicious. Infact I saved some batter and made little muffin type cakes in the aapam paatram which were ready by the time I cleared the kitchen. Khapli wheat has no gluten content. Its a good substitute for regular whole wheat flour which has gluten.

possibly misleading to say it has NO sugar. Because Jaggery is made from unrefined sugar cane. If you REALLY need to limit actual sugar then there are other alternatives

Tried this today, just replaced jaggery powder with coconut sugar (slightly increased the quantity). I also added a lot of almonds & black raisins. It turned out to be amazing. We loved it ❤

Text recipe in Russian: Ингредиенты: - 2 больших или 3 средних яблока - сок 1 лимона - 10-12 шт кешью - 3/4 ст. воды - 1/3 мускатного ореха - 3/4 ст. кокосового масла холодного отжима - 1 ч.л. корицы - соль 2 щепотки - 1 ст. джаггери или сахар кристаллич. - 2 ст. муки (ячменная, полбяная, б/г, ц/з,….) - 1/2 ч.л. соды - 3/4 ч.л. разрыхлителя Приготовление: 1. Из кешью нужно сделать молоко. Можно использовать и обычное. Кешью замочить в горячей воде на 10 мин 2. Форму промазываем кокосовым маслом и дно застилаем пергаментной бумагой, 3. Включаем духовку на 180 градусов 4. Яблоки очищаем, режем на кусочки и сбрызгиваем соком лимона, перемешиваем 5. В блендер складываем: орехи кешью, 1/4 ст. воды, перемалываем до состоянии пасты. Выливаем в посуду и добавляем ещё 1/2 ст. воды 6. Мускатный орех измельчить 7. В стационарный блендер кладём: 3/4 ст. кокосового масла, нарезанные яблоки, корицу, мускатный орех, 2 щепотки соли, измельчённый джаггери, 0,5 молока из кешью. Пробить. 8. В миске смешать муку, разрыхлитель и соду. 9. Добавить все жидкие ингредиенты (кроме оставшегося молока). Вымесить. 10. Добавить остатки молока из кешью и снова перемешать 11. Выложить тесто в форму и выпекать при 180 градусах 30-45 мин. Проверять шпажкой, она не должна быть влажной 12. Бисквит получается мягким и влажным. Дайте немного остыть и можете вынимать из формы аккуратно пройдясь по краям ножом
