If your bacon doesn't cook sufficiently to your liking on bottom, you can always try pre-frying the slices until they are slightly browned but still pliable. Then line the muffin cups with those and toss in your egg and bake.

Oh I see. That's what happened to me last night. Bacon did not cook thoroughly
the bacon should bake first for at least - 8 minutes at 400 - so that you can remove the fat - place it in muffin pan then add the eggs. eggs cook really fast - so adding it after doesn't get all the bacon grease in the eggs. the eggs will cook more moist than over cooked scrambled. regular milk instead of heavy cream is good also. i would thin sliced & diced some spinach - just to get it into the kids.

Agree! My oven was smoking from the grease! I had to take them out twice to dump the grease and put on broil to cook the bacon because it was still rubbery

If you cook the bacon first, and then pour the eggs in, and put it back in the oven, the bacon will burn and dry out. I don't agree with you.

This is great; however, one thing to note is that your bacon will be a undercooked at the bottom if you don’t cook it before you place the whole thing in the oven. Cook your bacon before for better results; otherwise, this is a great recipe.

@@mslady1230 They turned out great! Also, it's impossible to get that fluffy, egg-cakey texture without the whipping cream. I highly recommending using it when baking with eggs as the main ingredient.

This is in the oven right now. I decided to not make them scrambled eggs and just crack an egg, season it up a bit and lets see if its runny, not runny, good, bad. So far i think it will be good im adding a comment saying if its good or not

Damn it. I thought I'd invented this. LOL TBF mine is a little different lol. No cream, different cheese Stretch the (British back) bacon with the back of a knife line the trays (I actually do large versions using camembert backing dishes) with the fat facing up so it is exposed and the fat runs down onto the bacon keeping it moist and stopping it from turning too hard, leaving you with nicely crisped crown of fat. If you don't want them to close up, cut the fat at intervals. I let them close into little semi-parcels though. I then top with a little touch parsley and a touch of paprika (no paprika if the bacon is smoked), then top off with a small amount of stilton. That can go in the oven for about 20-30 mins. Never timed it tbh, I just eyeball it. You can always put the stilton on half way through too, save it from being annihilated too much

I agree Linda Love with you. I've cooked for a fabulous restaurant the Range in San Francisco for years now and the bacon will not cook, and you do not put heavy cream in eggs, that is just not how it's done unless you want to screw up the eggs of course.

I'm gona give this a shot this weekend, I normally mix a can of Del-Monte chopped potatos, 1 cup of mozarelli cheese and 6 eggs to make omlets I could just pour that into the bacon cups. Sweet , Thanks Deb, will let ya know how it turned out.

this is way too complex. Just butter a muffin tin, line with bacon/ham, crack an egg in it, cover with grated cheese, pop in oven.

That depends on how evenly you distribute the bacon. I'm a just-dump-it-in person. Especially when making breakfast-in-bed, I don't even try to distribute. Also I am extremely unskilled at not ripping bacon apart when removing it from the package. Which leads to the just-dump-it-in and make it look intentionally rustic mindset. Especially when using round slices of bacon. I've never heard anyone complain though. Also sillicone cupcake liners. Save your nonstick coating and your sanity.

LOVE this idea. But I would use skim milk instead of cream, cheddar for the cheese, and I would add some saulted spinach. This is a great on the go idea though!
