Debbie Challis, who works at LSE Library, describes the glimpses we have of Eglantyne and Dorothy’s childhood in old documents and what they did to find the famine in Europe after the First World War. Jebb founded Save the Children from the Fight the Famine Fund and Debbie explains why the Declaration of Children’s Rights was first made in 1924. The video includes images of sculpture in Ellesmer, Shropshire to commemorate the sisters and current refugee crisis.
