Fantastic review guys! You spoke of all the things that as a potential user I want to hear and also demonstrated the power of the tool rather than just talking about it.

Awesome, thanks guys for sharing! Good news (for me) : seems that EGO is now distributing its tools in Belgium which was not the case some years ago and I found a local retailer less than 10 km from my place, which is super cool ! I will very seriously consider this machine for next spring; I own an old wired Bosch and the wire cable is a real pain in the ... Was a pleasure to watch your video as usual :-) Greetings from Belgium

What is this the difference between this and st1400? I am unhappy with the lawnmower, the latch mechanism broke but Ego wouldn't fix it under warranty, Sydney tools had it with them for almost three months and told me that had sent to Ego but they hadn't

Any idea what's the power output of the trimmer motor? Can't find this specification any where for the ST1521E-S

Good Luck !!! I am currently waiting on my third trimmer in a year and a half to come from EGO in the mail. Both units failed from POWERLOAD not working. EGO's customer service during the pandemic is virtually non-existent. The internet is full of problems with the POWERLOAD on these units. Do your research before buying. Wish I would have.

That sucks, I know a lot of companies are struggling during this period as they see being encouraged to shit down. We still Havnt had an issue with our powerload and its used REGULARLY. I hope you get sorted soon. (Please let us know how you go) (Mike)

I like my ego. The only problem that I have is the battery life on the 2.5Ah. Did not last long enough to do my front and backyard. I was about 50% done with the backyard before it died on me. If the 5Ah battery wasn’t so expensive I’d invest in that. Just doesn’t seem worth it since you only get a few more minutes with the bigger battery. So I may just buy another tool with another 2.5Ah battery so I can swap batteries when I need to. About 30min-35min for a 2Ah run time.

why would you think you'd only get a few more minutes? You'll get about double the runtime on a 5Ah than a 2.5Ah. [Dwain]

Oz Tool Talk I’ve watched reviews doing how long each battery last. The 5Ah last about 25-30min longer. If I get another 2.5Ah that’ll be the same time frame and I’ll spend less money. And or get another tool from Ego with the 2.5Ah battery. So why spend 300$ for a 5Ah when the 2.5Ah is only 100+. That’s all I’m saying.

Gday guys how long of a run time do you get using the 5ah and 7.5ah batteries
@OZToolTalk

[Dwain] I think the rated runtime with a 2.5Ah battery is 40-50 mins. The bigger batteries should yield at least double and triple those times respectively.

[Dwain] Whilst I love the EGO, it is definitely not the most powerful on the market. I wouldn't call THIS ego trimmer commercial, but maybe pro DIY? Anyways, try the AEG or Victa units for massive commercial power.

haven't used the flexvolt sorry. The EGO line trimmer isn't quite commercial power like some other brands we've tested. Their brushcutter unit probably is though ... [Dwain]
