Ahhh MIMO! This was a great lesson, thank you. I loved the double meanings. I have recently researched Molo5eyah because of its benefits for the autoimmune system. It is very high in chlorophyll and they make the soup with fresh garlic. When I see this soup in Egyptian hotels, it looks slimy and dark olive green 😶, but it looks beautiful when made fresh. Thanks again. Enjoy your day. 😇

@@EgyptianArabicMimo Yes! It looks dreadful in the hotels. I recently watched a BBC documentary re Egyptian food and some lovely Nubian ladies made Molo5eyah and delicious looking Egyptian bread. Homemade food is always best. 😊👌

Aywa... molo5yah lazeez awi! I'm trying to saying it's really nice. Let me help my fellow friends understand this.. So basically it's a veggie (forgot the name in English but was named after a famous guy).. so this veggie is grind with that special cutter really fine.. and added to a soup that was boiled in toom(garlic) & farakh(chicken).

Lol! I love this lesson!! It's so useful! (And who doesn't like food?) I didn't know fruits were used in so many ways lol How offensive would you say it is to call someone a watermelon? Or is it a soft way to call someone silly? Like, say, a guy I like 😅 P.S. I finally had koshary for the first time a couple weeks ago!! I love that it's vegan (and I'm not even a vegan lol) and it's very delicious!

I'm struggling to understand how to make the fruit plural or sometimes I can't find the singular. For example. Strawberry, I can't figure out if farawla is singular or plural. And I also don't understand what is meant by "fruit in general" How can I learn the singular, plural, and general form of the fruit?
@EgyptianArabicMimo
Жыл бұрын
Usually the feminine version is the singular and the masculine version is the general or plural. Example: Tofaa7 = apples or apple (in general) Toffaa7a = an apple (1) Or we can add aya at the end to say 1 as well Toffa7aaya = an apple (cute way) Of course this doesn't apply to all fruits. Strawberry Farawla is Strawberry in general. Now if you want to say just 1 Strawberry then use aya because the general word is already feminine. So, it's going to be farawlaya. I always say if the rule is too complicated then memorize a couple of Examples. Then time and experience with the language will help you overcome the topic

@@EgyptianArabicMimo what is meant by "strawberry in general" like do you mean the flavor strawberry or? Also how do you say strawberries plural?
@EgyptianArabicMimo
Жыл бұрын
@Hailey Lowden yes, like the flavor and you wouldn't need the plural unless you're counting from 3 to 10. Example 3 strawberries Talat farawlaat
@EgyptianArabicMimo
Жыл бұрын
@Hailey Lowden strawberry in general means not 1 or many. For example when you say I love strawberry, does that mean you love an individual strawberry or a group of strawberries (plural) no, it just means you love this particular fruit in general
