I mean Buck Weaver even more. He losts a WS and also his career because of a scandal he had nothing to do with. And his name got tarnished. He batted .327 and made no errors.

You forgot the number one group, the fans. Fans in Chicago were cheated out of a championship and fans in Cincinnati had to accept the title wasn't fair and square. Two cities and two fan bases got screwed.

Interesting, Buck said he hit .327 in the Series but, that was between both the 1919 & 1917 Serises. He hit .324 in the 1919 Series.

I have always believed that Buck Weaver only should have faced one season suspension, and then allowed to play again.

I disagree. Other than Weaver and maybe Jackson the players were guilty. However they should have investigated the White Sox as well as MLB itself to see the greedy owners and corrupt association with gamblers that ran rapid.

He may not have been in on the fix, but he knew what was going on, and said nothing, and did nothing. Sure, he played his heart out on the field, and hit .327, but in the end, he was guilty by association.

There was a huge rumor going on at the time too. Ray Schalk the catcher could sense it since he caught the games that Cicotte and Lefty threw. And Im sure the manager knew something was going on too.

@@gavinharahus8252, Schalk may have had an idea, and his gut was probably right on the money, but he never attended any of the secret meetings. Fred McMillan didn't play at all, but he knew because he attended those secret meetings.

@@CSC52698 This rule was not in place in 1919. Weaver did everything he could in the series. Someone shouldn't be punished for eternity for not knowing that something would be seen as a crime a year later.

However, the fact that his first comment was the first comment means that you also thought about his first comment before replying with the first comment about his first comment, which means that his first comment will likely always be the first comment thought of most between his first comment and your first comment, because whoever thinks about your first comment from the time you posted it will also have probably thought about his first comment.
