Welcome to the Eight of Pentacles - aka, the Lord of Prudence.
Traditionally, this is the card of the apprentice, of learning a new skill and patiently working towards mastery of that skill. It's said that it takes 10,000 hours to truly master a skill, and this card shows the beginning of that process.
In tarot, eights stand for expansion, movement, prioritizing, inspiration and change.
Pentacles correspond to the element of earth and relate to what is tangible, rooted, and valuable. They have to do with what we make of our outer surroundings - how we create it, shape it, transform it, and grow it. Pentacles show practical skills, tangible reality, resources, and finances.
Traditional meanings associated with the Eight of Pentacles are craftsmanship, skill, attention to detail, concentrated effort, and productivity.
Journal prompts shared in this video:
1 - What am I working so hard for?
2 - Do I enjoy what I'm doing? If not, what are my alternatives?
3 - Notice how deeply absorbed the apprentice is in the details of his task. Are there any areas of your life that you should approach with more care and dedication?
Quote: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Mark Twain
