Eivor Palsdottir is from the Faroe Islands, near Iceland I believe.....she is a traditional "folk" artist, focusing on songs that recall a Norse tradition, but can sing from any genre...she performs in multiple languages, but her native Faroese is beautiful to hear....check out any version of her "Trollabundin" and her duet with Einar Selvik of Wardruna performing "Helvegen"

Eivor is the singer but she has played with those two musicians for many years. They are all from the Faroe Islands. I will be seeing Eivør perform in London in a couple of weeks. Many people reacting to this performance compare her to Kate Bush (Eivør has been dubbed the ‘Nordic Kate Bush’), and also to Aurora. You would find it very rewarding to do more of Eivør’s live performances, and also to do more of Kate Bush’s music. I’m not sure what music of Kate’s you have already done but the obvious music videos to do of hers include: Running up that Hill, Wuthering Heights (version 1 white dress video), Babooshka, This Woman’s Work, Don’t Give Up (her duet with Peter Gabriel on his song), and perhaps also Army Dreamers, which has recently gone viral on TikTok.

Greatest artist in the world today and one of the greatest vocalists ever. It's not a group as such but Eivor and her band. The only crossover I know of with AURORA is that both have performed Helvegen with Einar Selvik. Both have also covered Famous Blue Raincoat. Eivor is influenced by Kate Bush and many other artists. Eivor's music is very diverse and often contains ancient Folk inspired styles.

Great reaction! Now you will love to see Eivor perform her song "Tròdlabùndin" (pronounced Trod-la-bun-din), also called "Trøllabundin", recorded live at a festival in front of a fjord in Norway from 2013. It's completely different but will give you shivers! It's titled "Eivør Pálsdóttir: Tròdlabùndin (Trøllabundin) - 10.08.13" here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2Kmik39-gJdlfqA

She's brilliant. I'm going to see her perform in a few weeks. She has a new album which is excellent, and yes, she is a Kate Bush fan. One of the main differences though is her access to traditional throat singing (included in this song's breakdown with her wordless vocal) before she comes back in with that beautiful head voice. She is remarkable.

Be assured, that Eivor herself has said she was inspired by Kate Bush, and she's actually done a cover of The Hounds of Love. But don't think Eivor only sings like this, as her singing covers many genres. She's actually a trained opera singer. She sings folk, electro pop, and far more. With the composer John Lunn, she did all the backing music for the historical TV series The Last Kingdom. She has got a huge back catalogue, and has been singing professionally, since she was in her teens. I regard this, as one of THE great live performances. Eivor, like her fellow Scandinavian singer Aurora, are best live. In fact, both Eivor and Aurora have both done the female vocals on Wardruna's Helvegen, but not together. I notice that they follow each other on Instagram, but whilst being 2 of the best Scandinavian female vocalists, I've never been able to find any reference to them interacting, let alone appearing together. It's a pity, because they are 2 of my now favourite artists.

she reminds you of kate bush? check out her music video for hounds of love or her live performance for running up that hill. she is sometimes dubbed the nordic kate bush for a good reason. the "tribal"-part is a ancient nordic vocal technique called kulning, it was used as herdingcall to call the cattle back to the farm. she is a classically trained sopran and owns a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques. aurora is a lovely singer, but eivor outshines her effortlessly in every aspect. her vocal power and versatility is unrivaled, she is a professional musician for more than 25 years now eivor also has done "the symphonic viking voyage" on danish television, together with einar selvik and the danish national symphonic orchestra. two hours of pure magic

Very soon you will transit to Coke Studio Pakistan, where you have the luxury of listening to songs with “captions on” so that you understand the lyrics too. Another feature of Coke Studio Pakistan are the “magical journeys” which are in fact, “behind the scene” of the making of song. Coming from a different culture, it is most important to understand the process behind making of every song. It adds to the flavour of song and the cultural nuances related to it 😊🙂
