I prefer gels since I use strobes... But when I use LEDs I dial into the colour I want, this concept that the colours are constantly changing relies on luck to catch the right colour balance. The projector and laser were cool concepts tho. Would be nice to know where he got his other equipment besides the Nanlites

Lack of control with flash is due to lack of understanding and experience. Good ones have modeling lights. Subjects can't move much with continuous or they will be blurred. But, continuous light has its good points also. Some animals and children don't like flash, and some people have medical conditions that may cause convulsions with flash. Continuous light is necessary in these conditions. Personally, I use both types of lighting.

Hi Romie! You've made some great points! I have over 15 years experience using flash but I prefer using continuous lights because it translates directly to moving image, and for me it's just a natural direction as I want to work more towards moving image than still photography :)

@@EivindHansen I started using continuous light in 1965 o so. I still use it on children and pets that don't like flash, or if I want movement blur in the photo. However, I use flash mostly because it stops blur unless I use rear curtain flash. With the newer flash even speedlights have modeling lights, so I can see what the light's doing. Mostly it's a matter of personal preference. Some people like continuous.

Can you be in a natural lit room and still get these looks?

Eivind said horror movies had influence on his style, but if he did not say that, I would have guessed that Andy Warhol had some influence on his style.

Andy's definitely had an influence on my work too! Sadly, there's only a limited amount of references I was able to squeeze into this very short segment! Xx

A Nanlite Projector Mount for Forza 60 and 60B LED Monolights (36°), BH # NAPJFZ6036 was used in this case. A fixture such as the Nanlite Forza 60C RGBLAC LED Spot Monolight Kit, BH # NAFORZA60C can be attached and would offer built-in color effects. bhpho.to/3NnUjb0 bhpho.to/36eQSUs
