I'm not that far away - Reno. I recently "spider-cracked" the base of my fibula and severely bruised, possibly "malliated" (deformed by force) my tibia. I'll spare any sob story because there's nothing to feel sorry about working through the pandemic and getting my stimis. I would love a Sondors but my driving record, without a class D/M endorsement, is squat. From what I can tell, in order to do what I would like to do in the very near future, I need a newer Himiway and (by my best guess) a 5-6 battery carried supply - and maybe 5 pounds of clothing changes with toiletries). The plan is to ride frontage roads (including rolling right through NC & GV via 20 - all the way to Clear Lake) from RENO TO JENNER (Goat Rock State Park; et. al.: final video chapter of The Goonies and my personal home beach), staying in Healdsburg as my first goal. I was a teenage century rider and can pedal unassisted a good distance of it, beyond Truckee, of course. PS: how can I become an eBike beta tester?

Or, you could source the parts from your own country (or other non-Asian factory) and assemble them where you live. Yes they would be much more expensive and reliable and capable and serviceable etc. You would make less profit at least initially, but would be employing local people and driving your local economy. At the risk of sounding old, that is how things worked before greed and laziness took us over here in North America.

Not many have described the ordering process as well as you have. The shipping container shortage started years ago with a threat to decrease trade with China and we're seeing the results of that decision. Manufacturing based on 'just in time' requires dependable transportation and any disruption gets felt later. Chips aren't the only thing affecting manufacturing. Thank God I purchased my ebike three years ago. Cheers

Thanx for the video Kyle... I think most people understand the delays you are encountering... and that is why we have been patient and understood/accepted that the "September" delivery still has not happened going on 6 months late... what is harder to understand is the delays that have occurred over the last month + where the bikes have reportedly been in the US and at your shop... can you Please give us an estimate of when 24" bikes will start to ship... I know the order status page says: "BlackBird September Batch 2 - 26" bikes have begun shipping as of Monday, Feb 22nd. 24" bikes will ship after 26" models." what is "after 26" models"??? is that today? this week? next week? 2 weeks? longer? we were originally told that orders would be filled in the order they were received... if you have the 24" bikes why not fill those in the order they were purchased also? is there a production line factor that mandates 24" bikes have to wait? such as it is just more efficient to work on all the 26" first? that would make sense... but there is no explanation that I've seen... I ordered a 26" and a 24"... I'd just like to know when I can expect them to be shipped/arrive... if you have the bikes in your shop... that seems like a reasonable thing to estimate... Thanx...

even though it would take longer to ship to the east coast couldnt you have it sent to the east coast and then aboard an 18 wheeler truck trailer and across the united states in a week or 2? you know maybe there is a market for refurbishing of parts. just like in the auto industry where you may turn in a starter or alternator or even engine they will strip down the part and rewind the starter and alternator and install new brushes and regulator and diodes so when you order a replacement from your auto parts store they will take the old one on a core value and get you the replacement parts. so maybe parts like deraileurs and cassettes could be rebuilt even here in the united states. as of travel restrictions you could try registering your self as a student of international university and get over easier.

Hey Kyle, another great video...Thank you! Anyone in the USA thinking about manufacturing ebikes right here in the good ole USA. I understand the price would be very different, but I personally, and I also believe a lot more people would willing to pay more and be all over supporting jobs here instead of a Communist Nation which is becoming increasingly aggressive and cruel to its people. No trying to be political as well but China is a socialist nation which means powerful corporate companies do not run the country. If your inferring about the lies being propagated constantly over the news 24/7, know that there is an agenda to demonize China. (BRI) In regards to bringing manufacturing ebikes right here in the US, you have to think about the supply chain. Motor manufacturers, parts that make up these powerful motors, namely magnets, controllers, bike frame etc...and all these different parts on an ebike. Prices would by 2-3 times more than now.

OK video except The emergency broadcast warning system bleeper, not cool during a Tsunami warning, I am sure you can find something funnier. I am waiting for my ebike to show up via UPS tomorrow, here on maui you're going to spend a $500 shipping premium at this time to get a bike here to the island The batteries came airfreighted from China Via fedex And they arrived months ago. The bike China to Las Vegas Warehouse. then trucked to California Where fedex refused to airfreight it to Hawaii cause they thought it had a battery in it which didn't. Back to Vegas now UPS tracking Says it'll be here Friday. I ordered this Mid drive full suspension fat ebike in November of 2020 Aloha. 🤙🏼

I was so lucky last year. I ordered the bike and I got it in two days. But then I wanted to go camping and I ordered a battery and that took a month-and-a-half. And then I got the wrong battery even after I sent them pictures of the battery. The battery I got works it's just a quarter of an inch too tall to fit in the hole of the ecotric hammer bike. So every time I change batteries I have to move the little thing up so that I can lock it into that little hole. That is why it would have been better to buy a bike from you because they would never accept me the wrong battery. But I wanted to go camping that is why I kept a battery. If I sent the battery back last year it would have been October by the time I got to go camping or or November. But the videos you made it helped me to choose the right bike so I can tow it I didn't know anyting about e-bikes last year. I thought device would probably last about a week and then Fall Apart. after 700 miles it still works. I could never get the front end to tighten down I think they sent me the wrong front end. I have to take it to the bike shop and have them look at it and ecotrek will pay me back. There was another guy that got the wrong front end. I saw a very short clip of where they make bikes in China it's like a sweatshop slave labor. It is sad the United States cannot do this for an affordable price.
