Replacing items is not repairing. Anyone can replace units. Repair is another talent.

Overhauling a movement like this is not economically sound as they are not designed to be disassembled and repaired. Please see the other videos on my channel.

If your car doesn't run, and you replace the bad parts, have you not repaired it?

Trust what Underwriters Laboratory determines and your own skill, Electrical tape is not needed on wire nuts as long as they have the metal coil of wire on the inside. Speaking as an appliance repairman I try to discourage the use of tape over wire nuts because it does nothing for safety and just adds complication to trouble shooting by hiding heat discoloration and burn marks of a poor electrical connection, plus it makes a sticky mess when you do try to remove it and adds time to any repair.

Enjoyed your video. I have an old (1960's) Ford Tractor advertising clock that uses the same 22w round bulb, FS2 starter, which I replaced. It works, but makes a humming noise. What causes that and is it fixable. It was my father's, so worth more to me than any one else.

Most likely its the magnetic ballast, which is normal. If you dont care about it being all original you could replace it with an electronic ballast which is smaller, lighter, and doesn't hum.

I need to replace the movement on a clock very similar to the quaker state clock in this video. Would you please provide the supplier information on the battery compartment AC adapter? I am having difficulty finding that part. If you have a supplier website where you purchase your parts from, that would be helpful as well. Thanks for the detailed repair video. Mike.

Hi Tonya. That part is not available individually. You have to purchase the entire electric movement. These are available from various suppliers such as Merritt's Antiques in PA or Timesavers in AZ. I'll add links below the video.
