I have a Greenworks 2300 PSI Pressure Washer (PW). Used it once. The GFCI went bad, It was easy to test, as when I plugged it into main power the power light illuminated then it would trip to off within 5-7 seconds with NO LOAD (PW powered off). As a final test I opened the GFCI and disconnected the PW wires from the GFCI (please ensure the power cord is disconnected from an outlet before opening the GFCI), and then plugged to GFCI into power with nothing connected to it with the same result. Bought a new GFCI at Lowes, installed it as a replacement and the PW works great again.

I had an issue with my harbor freight electric one today, hadn’t used it in over 10 years. When I plugged it in, I guess the on switch had been on so the machine cut on right away and started running for 10-20 seconds. Went to hit the trigger and nothing came out. This was also before I realized I had my hoses screwed up, so the machine wasn’t getting any water… not the thing won’t cut back on no matter where I plug it in… what do you suppose is the culprit? Do these things have fuses or is the GFCI plug the part that usually serves that role?
@SimonMac

My guess is that the GFCI works as a fuse. I'm not sure there's another one built in. Hope you can get it to work again!
