This is a project that I have been thinking of for some time. The timing belt pulley which you see can drive any model i.c. engine which is mounted to the top plate, by way of a timing belt. The motor is a 3/8" variable speed reversible drill which I bought thru the local buy and sell adds for $10.00. The drill is mounted on a slide platform which slides on 1/2" round rods and can be positioned via the knurled wheel at one end of the frame and can be moved left or right to tension the belt. My total cost came to $420 Canadian funds. This will not be used for "running in" engines, because the drill motors were never designed to run continuously. My plan is to only use it for starting the various engines I have and which I have yet to make. Different configurations of engine may require different tapped mounting holes in the top plate. The other timing belt pulley which mounts to the engine has a one way clutch bearing in it that will let the engine run at a higher rpm than the drill motor with no load on it.---Brian
