In your experience, what’s the difference between Jobber and FP? I’m in the middle of a week long FP demo period. Trying to start out right.

First off I'm supper happy your doing the demos. They both have very positive features, it really boils down to what you do, how many techs, how diverse and of course budget. I hope you used my refferals on both to save you money!

Also do you use paper notes or take on tablet. Any simple estimate software you recommend. I just got a iPad pro 11 to try and get to next level

Also can't partial bill at least what I've figured out and not sure how to add the 3% credit card fee
@jmayo1331

I found work arounds for both of these. For partial billing, you can do one of two things. Either get the signed estimate and then create seperate jobs for the individual billings like a rough or trim. If you go this route, you will need to archive the estimate and turn off the online paying options if you have them. The other option for partial billings is to create the job from the orginal estimate. Once your ready for an invoice, go to that property and just create an invoice from your overview screen. Once the job is done, just close and archive. For the 3% CC fee, there is not an option for this. Its because not all states/counties allow you to charge this fee. So be sure to check your local laws before you start charging this. The work around though is to create a line item with a zero cost for the credit card fee. When you go to invoice and they are paying by card, you then have to do the math, add the line item and update the amount in that line item.

Can I use your paperwork if I'm an electrical contractor in Canada? Do you use any specific rules related to your area only?
@The360Electrician

Can't tell you if you can or can't, I don't know anything about your requirements. Either way my paperwork is sold as a "sample" and fully editable. You can keep what you want take out what you want based on your professional advisors (lower, lic boards accountant etc.)

Why do we need you paperwork if we sign up for jobber. Couldn't we just add terms and conditions to there quotes.
@The360Electrician

Great questions. In my opinion, you always need paperwork. Sometimes getting signatures or entering clients on the spot could be a challenge. Also you could be out of cell range, like here in Montana. Last but not least you may not have everyone on Jobber, so having paperwork back up is a must. Take it and cut and paste the terms and conditions into Jobber or any other software.

Question. Thoughts on 360 cameras for projects. Any experience? I am thinking of video taping 360 on rewires and new builds as a cya ,video tape then go back and estimate,and to show conflicts with other trades, also in case something gets buried. Don't have much information tho. I'm just a small company trying to build correctly in modern times. Just me and my son's.

@@cryptokeeper8504 360 not because of the name are the next level game changer for electricians. I'm doing a few videos on how to use them. Wait till Company cam starts integrating them as well. 100% Way to go in 2024! Insta360

I was looking at getting the insta 360. I have used company cam and they are nice. A little expensive tho for a small company. I personally have tried matterport. I used my phone so not so good but with a insta360 there stuff turns out great. Doesn't do much for project management tho

Apparently, Jobber only does QBO integration. That's a game ender for us that hate QBO. Desktop has way more functionality than QBO. I do get it, though; Intuit is going to do away with QB Desktop. They've already done so in the EH. QBO has a LONG way to go for it to be comparable to Desktop. Unfortunately for me, game changer.

Oh man I 100% agree with you about QB in general. Soon as a competitor co.es close I'm gone 2 seconds flat! Amazing how they have a monopoly!

Not true, you just have to make sure you load your terms and conditions and in some states give a "Welcome/info" folder with the needed notices to stay complimentary. Then note on terms and conditions that they acknowledge receiving it. It's pretty easy if you know what your doing. That's what we are going to cover next moth for all the annual sig. Ups.
