Amazing class, I really stay more than two hours listening all that brilliant explains about principles and methods to understand and diagnose electrical failures what we touch and coming in the garage and its very hard to find without a serious knowledge about electricity. Thank a lot for this great opportunity to learn, hope you share millions of others classes

One thing of concern to me, hooking a jumper pack in parallel to the car battery, with the amp meter in line, seems likely to blow the meter fuse due to a large current surge (either direction) as the jumper pack voltage and battery voltage try to reach equilibrium. I'd feel better with a 2 to 10 amp charger, instead of the lithium jumper pack, just to restrict current until the battery cable is disconnected from the vehicle battery. Just my two cents. At any rate, I'm pretty handy with electrical things, but I always learn a few things from these videos. I really appreciate that you've made these available for free. Thank you, sincerely. :)

Tony thanks for you comment but a jumper pack will not cause an issue....current only flows if a circuit is on. I never had any fuse blow nor has Rich the instructor in the video. THANKYOU by far the best parasitic drain test I found a draw on a vehicle that went through the shop 3 times Glad you put this out for us to cover every possible cause When you connect a jumper pack do. You measure battery voltage first then set the battery pack voltage a little higher ? And a low amperage ? Anyway THANKS GOD BLESS

The jumper pack is to take the place of the battery in the vehicle when you place your meter in series so a sticking relay does not disconnect. So, the F terminal in 2 wire GM is duty cycled; this is the control wire, right? The L terminal tells the pcm if the battery is charging and does not duty cycle, am I not correct?. I hear you say the F terminal is feed back and L terminal, control. It is confusing.
@TSTseminars

Sorry for the delay...here is your Answer...On GM systems the F terminal is an alternator regulator output of the field duty cycle monitored by the computer. The L terminal is a duty cycled computer output to turn on and control the regulator in the alternator. The computer also monitors the L terminal for a near ground signal from the alternator which is given when a no charge, low voltage, or fault exists. I strongly disagree with him when he's saying soldering connections is bad. They are just as flexible as butt connectors or crimp connectors. That's a fact. A crimp can't hold the wire unless it's stiff. If a stiff connection is a no go then cars wouldn't be able to be made. Every connection is stiff
