Knowing something and being able to make others understand this is something totally different ... And you my friend, whoever you are, have a talent in doing this ... Everything in your narration is perfect: from your voice to your drawing and making others remember the knowlege included in your video without having to study it again. So I hope that u are some kind of professor or teacher in a university because you have a talent in that. Friendly greetings from Greece.

My professor just started to mention terms like depolarization, repolarization, and action potential without explaining what those meant. WTH?! Thank you for simplifying the concept behind the terms. Most of us learning this are undergrads LoL maybe some professors forget this and start throwing medical jargon at us like we already know what they mean.

Which coronary artery perfuses the SA node? I ask because wouldn’t an occlusion of an artery that perfuses such a critical electrical area of the heart, if not the single most important portion of the heart, cause a fatal arrhythmia? If so, what dysrhythmia would be caused?
@AB-wq2vy
5 жыл бұрын
SA node is perfused by sinoatrial nodal artery. Failure of SA node is called sick sinus syndrome. It shouldn't be fatal in it self, usually escape rhythm is formed by other heart cells. Every heart cell has the ability to function as pacemaker cell. When SA node stops, usually AV node is the one that starts escape rhythm, that beats around 40-60bpm. It is sort of a backup system in the heart. If that fails, then there is junctional escape rythm and ventricular escape rhythm which are even slower.

The atria pulse first, followed by the ventricles, but S1 is when the ventricles beat and the atrial flaps close, and S2 is when the atria beats and the ventricular valves close, right? Does this mean the heart beat technically starts in diastole/S2 and ends in systole/S1? Or have I gotten something completely the wrong way?

Sorry, I don't know if you explained this on another video and sorry if this is a silly question but. The "lub-dub" sound? Is the lub the ventricle contracting or systole, and dub the atria contracting/systole and then the rest between lub dub*lub dub*lub dub - is that the "delay" you're talking about between atrial contraction and ventricular contraction? While the ventricles fill up? Because you don't hear anything? I've never really understood that properly.
