An excellent description and the car garage analogy really helps to visualize the idea. Brilliant.

Glad you liked it Billy! I try and find ways to explain difficult concepts to students and after teaching 10,000+ students at a large research university, this is one of the best ways I have found to explain this difficult concept. I appreciate your feedback! Dr. Montgomery

The subject that I didn't understand in bachelor's degree came up in my master education as well. However, I finally got it! Thanks.

Does degeneracy violate Hund’s rule? Atoms normally fill from ground state. Isn’t this like nearly all matter in the ground state?

Hund's rule still applies. Matter states depend upon temperature and pressure of environment. So, no, not all matter is in ground state. For example, wires conduct electricity but luckily not all electrons are in the ground state or we would have a Dicken's of a time getting electricity :D

I’ve always been a super physical high spatial orientation machinist/engineering type but most of my friends I use to play board games with were the low testosterone nerdy computer coding geek types. They whipped me at any game except this one German board game that was all about spatial orientation, without shame I admit that overall they were way better & smarter than me & except for that one board game I was no match. I can clearly see that you are smarter than me & maybe your analogy helps some but in itself is faulty & would actually confuse a student that understood mechanics.

Well all models are faulty by definition but give a reader an idea of how things work; feel free to direct your students to a video of yours!

@@astropictionary3988 good reply, something people overlook a great deal is how all models are faulty.., like I said, I can tell you are a very intelligent person & you do a good job at teaching, I hope my input gave you food for thought on how to teach given personality types but all the same continue the good work & remember my critique is only for given type of student for I certainly wasn’t criticizing you or your skills as an educator.., thank you again :)

@@activestyle4324 Thanks for your thoughts. This free video library is for a general education student of my textbook Astronomy Essentials (books.apple.com/us/book/astronomy-essentials/id1590887070). I will not reach all students in this textbook and I don't intend to. I am serious about putting your knowledge to work and write your own book to reach your target students. Send me a link to your products as I would love to review them :D
