75dB - 60dBm = 15dBm? Shouldn't the dB be converted to dBm first?

Hello Christina, Yes, 75dB - 60dBm does equal 15. dB is a relative unit that describes gain. dBm is an absolute unit referenced to 1 milliwatt. So you can't convert dB to dBm. It is important to note that if the difference between two power levels expressed in dBw, dBm, or dBf is taken, the result is in dB since subtracting decibels corresponds to division, and therefore the result is a ratio. Good question!!
