Hi Paul.. I'm on the hunt for the best theme/plugin for header flexibility with elementor in terms of transparent/sticky headers with the most control and effects. The reason is that elementor even with the sticky header plugin is limited as it can't shrink down the logo. I've seen your video on oceanwp headers which looks great but astra also offers that kind of functionality and I have the astra agency package. Using themes to control headers however is not as flexible as making headers in elementor. I'm just about to watch this video and wondered what your theme/plugin of choice is if needing to create a swanky site for a client with a header that impresses? Many thanks!

I live Elementor and the tools around it like the TENEX plugins. However, my biggest frustration with Element or headers is the fact that we still cannot create true transparent sticky headers that start with a clear background and then after the user scrolls down another header drops in with a different logo. This is the one reason why I keep using my themes header feature. Even other plugin makers can't seem to make one. 😥😥😥 Other than that, great work. Those login/register/ my account links are a gem.

Very true! I still tend to use the OceanWP headers as it is just easier to work with and generally a little more flexible than the way Elementor works. Good to have options though. 👍

Information -here- is good, what is lacking is if you don't have elementor pro, how do you do everything here? Particularly, using Astra theme, and would love to just be able to say "get out of the way and let me put in the ""site"" header that I want"..... Vanity site and really don't want to have to think about paying recurring "rental" fees for a theme / software that I'm only going to use on one site.

Does this mean it's also possible to use the Jetelements registration widget in a popup? Just watched Elementors video on popups today but couldn't find anything about how to make a register popup.

@@WPTuts That's great! Thanks for testing it😄 This can be used for so many things! I'm going to purchase the addons. The only thing there is left to do is create a dashboard for the users visiting your site. Paul, at 34:13, when you click on the hamburger menu, the whole header shifts slightly to the right. Why does that happen and how can I stop it? It's happening to me on the website I am building and it is more than a but annoying.

Thanks for the Great Video Paul! I have a question out of the context of this video. I went to use the Button element in Elementor. I wanted to create a link to another page on my site and it would not work. It works in the page view from the editing, but if opening up another browser, clicking of the link created, it does not work. It shows the link in the URL of the page its suppose to link to but it will not go to that page. I see many many complaints on various forums complaining of this not working. Do you have a video on this? Thanks

I can't say I've ever experienced that issue. Do you have an example I could take a look at?
@DBCVC

I don't have an example at the moment. I could be overlooking something there but it seems quite straightforward. There is a # sign there. I've tried the link with and with the # sign. It works as far as the correct link shows in the URL, but the page for the URL does NOT show. I know the URL is correct because I can type it in manually and it goes right to the page. Thank you so much Paul for responding earlier. Keep up the great work!!

Just got to the 3:26 mark and the login authorisation drop in. Guess I should wait until I have finished watching but I had to ask, would this suit a site I am working on? I am working on our local community orchard group's new site and our Committee has asked for a section/page on the site that only members can log in to; no idea what they want to leave there although they had mentioned they'd like to list who had borrowed books and tools, fruit press equipment, etc. Would the Zemex pack be appropriate or could it be done through Elementor Pro alone perhaps?
@WPTuts
5 жыл бұрын
Hmm, you could setup the login to redirect to your specific URL I guess. You could then look at making that page only accessible to a certain usergroup (i.e. Contributor). This would give access to the page but not the ability to actually edit the page. If you want more control, you may want to look at some form of membership or user restriction plugins.

@@WPTuts Have still to establish whether they want every member to be able to edit a "booking form" so that other members know where they can find library books or tools. Just got to 21:24. It's an unusual set of "requirements", I'm reluctant to give too many people "control" as it will end up in chaos. Lol. Perhaps I'll need to find a plugin that allows editing but restricts which page(s). Thanks.

@@aquawebdesign9821 sadly, some people want everything for free and then complain when support isn't available for free or the project gets dropped because it's not financially viable.. @@WPTuts Why NOT assume it's free unless pre-warned that it's usage is restricted behind a paywall. I don't have a problem paying for software that I find really useful but, for instance in my case, I'd like to know upfront whether I can include a plugin by default for all my clients, some of whom are not-for-profits and single site bloggers who can't afford any hidden extras. I just think it's borderline sleazy to "steal" someones time watching a tutorial only to find out the whole thing is waste of time because of the paywall issue when any of that taint could have been avoided by simply mentioning the paywall problem up front. Other than that criticism you make great tutorials so thank you for your service.
@WPTuts
5 жыл бұрын
@@MarkConstable first of all, thank you for the general praise on the content. However, I can't agree with your sentiment or comments regarding it being 'sleazy' to 'steal' time. I could 180 the whole comment and say that it's your responsibility to do your own research about a service or product. If I watch something and think that the content looks useful, I'll research it and if it's a paid product or service and I feel it wold be beneficial, then I'll happily pay for it. There is no such thing as 'free'. Everything has its price and that includes plugins for WordPress. I run a business and if something makes mine or my clients lives easier, then I'll invest in it. I also work with non-profits and individuals and an expense of $15 to make my work day quicker, easier or more productive far outweighs that small monetary investment. Besides, most of these plugins offer unlimited use on any number of websites. So, you're not paying it every single project. However, lets just agree to disagree on this point as I feel we both have very differing opinions and points of view. Have a great day. 👍
