I am in the last stage of my Elements blanket and just wanted to thank you so much for all the time you put into making these videos. I would never have been able to make this without all you have done, (as I am not to good at reading patterns). Looking forward to many more projects thanks to you.

Hi Esther, with regard to the 'slip stitch join' you refer to your 'nutsaboutsquares' video. In that video you join your yarn through the chain two spaces. Would I be doing the same in the chain one space of the squares in the Elements CAL?
@Itsallinanutshell

yes, you are correct, and yes, I would suggest joining in the ch-space also if possible

I don't know how many squares you would need. I suggest making one square and measuring it. Then determine how many you need to make to get to the final size of the blanket you want to make. Also weight the square that you made, that will tell you how much yarn you used. Multiply your yarn amount for one square with the total number of squares to determine you total yarn amount. Then add 10%, and that will give you a good estimate of how much you need.

You're quite welcome, Esther. I've only just started this afghan (just finished Week 2), but your videos have already been tremendously helpful, just for Parts 1 & 2 so far! I imagine I will keep coming back to all of them as I get to them. I also like your color layout, so I'm trying to follow yours, substituting my colors A, B, C, D, E for yours. So thanks for posting that info on your blog.
