Eli, Eli אֵלִי, אֵלִי, or "A Walk to Caesarea", is a poem written by Hungarian-Jewish resistance fighter Hannah Szenes during WWII. It was set to music by composer David Zahavi in 1945 and is often played on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.
My God, my God,
may it never end -
the sand and the sea,
the rustle of the water,
the brilliance of the sky,
the prayer of man.
