Thanks for your expression. I find that mindfulness, an ability for it, (I've been practicing more formally to do it, to live continually and even continuously mindfully, for the past several months and in a couple communities whose members are dedicated to developing this ability) can be extremely helpful for continuing to move on, to return to the initial interest and direction, once having seen the scary bits of what happens to be involved in moving in that initially cast, desired direction. Mindfulness, I've seen for myself, can let one walk that balanced line of acknowledging both realities as concurrently true: there are awfully scary, awful things, and yes I can produce goodnesses. I see the view I expressed above as similar to yours in this video, to me both making sense (and importantly so!) A fuller truth is more useful than a more-partial truth, typically always imo.
