This is one of the reasons why i love DBX - it can fly on silent running practically all the time. Great video!

it does make for a good stealth ship!

You could also make a heatsink by running fluid through your entire sistem and then pumping it back into the jettison container.

Rather than heat sinks that dump heat accumulated it would be a nice idea to have extra units for radiating heat. That would make the ship cool quicker and run cooler but be more visible (that is based on the heat signature, hence silent running meaning cloaking), allowing combat ships to run with more heat dumping weapons than normal. It can also be used to purge heat before going silent for a sneak attack or stealth exit.

Reminds me of the thermal clips in mass effect in place of magazines. They trap and eject heat out of the weapons.

The issue with the thermal clips is they seem to never lose their heat It would be a lot more realistic if the thermal clips cool down over time, allowing you to fire without changing clips if you wait long enough

Hi, very interesting videos about Elite science :D I have a question, I know there is very cold in space, 3°K I believe, but if there is no air how heat transfers to the space?

Through radiation. You are right, the background temperature is very low in space precisely because it's only a few degrees Kelvin. If you emit more radiation than you receive, you cool down. So on a ship you have to carry heat to radiators that point towards cold space to radiate the heat away.
