Personally I'd recommend using a wooden travel frame and passing the needle and yarn through the canvas in separate movements using both hands, rather than using a combination "scooping" stitch. I find it makes it easier to regulate the tension and "lay" each stitch smoothly and regularly..without kinks in the yarn . It also reduces friction and wear on the yarn as it is worked. But "scooping" is much quicker..if you're looking for a speedy result! Just what works best for me.

curious stitch? What is it?

This is the Victorian cross stitch, which is done on 10-mesh canvas, using Elizabeth Bradley wool. All of the Elizabeth Bradley kits use this stitch, which is very easy and relaxing to stitch. Enjoy!

You shouldn’t sew you stitch... always punch and pull.

Elizabeth Bradley recommends this sewing method, the Victorian Cross Stitch, not the punch and pull method. Of course you can do that if you wish. The work is worked in hand started in the bottom lower right hand corner of the canvas.some people like frames but they are not necessary using the sewing method, and there is no distortion.
