Another song from the heart of Elizabeth. That's when the song takes life.

Had the opportunity to play with Chuck Seals many times in El Monty CA at the Sundowner bar, where he would come in to join the Sunday jam sessions, back in the late 70’s, early 80’s. Many years later my wife and I were at the Grand Ole Opry when Elizabeth changed her planned performance to include her slower version of this song. She said she had heard this song while driving home from her DJ slot the previous night. Chuck would have been proud of how beautiful she sounded that night, I know we were!

Further to Mamadukes, Ralph told me, back in the Gallup years, that, drunk, he'd tried to crawl home 'cross a highway with his 'Crazy Arms'. Wonderful steelie, just about the West Coast's first. Waylon loved him, Merle tried so hard to steal him from Waylon. And he was a good friend to me.He was an original piece of that 'West Coast Sound'.

Great version of a great song. Love her real country voice. The reason she is not a big star is she is way to country for Nashville these days. That’s a shame isn’t it.

At the start of the video it says that Elizabeth Cook wrote this song. I believe it was written by Ralph Mooney sometime in the early fifties. She does do a wonderful job on it.

@@Ace-mj7ws Ralph Mooney on the pen. Wrote it after crawling back to his motel room across the road he said on his “crazy arms”. I believe Dan Seals dad, Chuck, had a hand in Crazy Arms writing also. But it was later revealed that this song probably originated in KY from the pen of Paul Gilley. So it was written, and Moon and Seals put the music to it.
