There’s a neat trick I use to give my Elizabethan Ruffs that perfect figure-eight look that I will be sharing with you today! With just a bit of math and some simple sewing, we can prep the ruff edge, then continue attaching and starching it to create an easy-care ruff that perfectly complements your prim and proper Elizabethan ensemble!

An incredible resource on the internet is Noel Gieleghem’s “How To Create A Stand-Alone 1570s-Style Linen Ruff” which he pointed me to after we had a long chat about ruffs! There are other great adaptations out there too - I know Christina Forst has adapted this method for teaching and she is amazing as well!
