A wonderful piece of music composed by Ronald Binge. Takes me back to my childhood growing up in the UK in the fifties and sixties. It never fails to pull on my heart strings.

Such a lovely joyous piece of music. I've been trying to play this piece for a few weeks now, but it's a lot harder than it sounds. Especially getting the rhythm right and the gentle "swing" that gives it such character. Incidentally, I believe Elizabethan refers to Elizabeth II, the piece was written and first performed before it was given its name and was later named in honour of the new queen.

I did know that the piece was related to Elizabeth ll, but dressing up as in the previous Elizabethan age is more fun!

Hello Nancy, I just discovered you within the last week and I’m so grateful for your musicianship, charm, your costumes, and the lovely environment that you create. I have never heard the Elizabethan Serenade before. As you probably know, we lost Roger Whittaker last week and I loved his singing and especially his whistling. I found his rendition of this piece with his distinct extraordinary whistling accompanied by an orchestra. I then kept looking to see what other renditions of the piece were out there and found many. Your piano rendition is my favorite. Then I decided to watch all your KZitem videos and what a joy that was for me. Thank you so much for the love of the music that you share with all of us as well as your beautiful soul and your talent. Blessings, Sonya

Nicely done, but the doesn't the title reflect the optomism of the dawn of the new Elizabethan era, being the succession of Elizabeth II in 1950's Britain, rather than 1550's?
@NANCYLITTENsalonpiano

Yes it does, but it was more fun to dress in medieval costume!

This is written under the video: Ronald Binge's Elizabethan Serenade was first performed by the Mantovani orchestra in 1951. Although it celebrates the second Elizabethan age in England, pianist Nancy Litten has dressed in the fashions of the time of Queen Elizabeth 1 in the 16th century.

What's with the silly costume? "Bygone age"? This was originally titled The Man In The Street, and renamed just before publication to celebrate the accession of Elizabeth THE SECOND. Tudor music sounds nothing like this.
