However dark the place she was in, whatever burdens and demons she was struggling with, she had people around her who could have helped if they had known. So sad that she felt there was no other option but to end her life. And so sad for her family who have to live with the pain, grief and questions without answers. RIP

Fuck me what a waste …… very sad. If she had only lived she would have looked back on that day in the future thanking her lucky stars she didn't do it. Such a lovely girl any dad would be proud of ……. I so wish something or someone could have stopped her.

Committing suicide on your 18th birthday is much like falling pregnant with your first child; your husband is excited about becoming a father, your parents are excited about becoming grandparents and your siblings are excited becoming an aunt or uncle, and shortly after you've given birth to it, the very same day, you decide to throw it out the hospital window and kill it because you decided you didn't want it. Suicide only leaves the same amount of pain on those around you, which is why you should never kill anyone at all. She would have had so much to look forward to later on in life and so did her family.

Sorry but unless you have walked that path you have no idea, do you seriously think its easy to end your life? . every single emotion and thoughts are going through your mind at 1000mph, you cant process whats happening and you look for a way out. At this point rational thinking is gone, you focus only on yourself and that everyone else will be better off without your burden. I can't speak for Eliie god bless her but I can speak as a survivor..had my neighbour not been there i wouldnt be here. sadly it took an attempt at my own life to get help and support. The thing is as well, not all mental health issues are down to mental ability, imagine my scenario, 8 years of 24/7 pain with no respite, family/social activites gone, family holidays have to be planned around me, days out are planned around me etc etc. You have no idea the amount of guilt and self loathing that builds, i've told my wife to leave and find someone who won't be a burden, she knows I could simply goto my drug cupboard and take the lot - people who are suffering are NOT rational in regards to themselves, they only see the hurt etc they may cause others and that everyone is best off if were not here. You have no right to judge anyones state of mind, we are all different and not perfect, your post is typical of someone who has never been down that road to the point where you think everyone is better off without you. I once saw a clip of a trial and a barrister made a comment of suicide being the "easy" way out. The judge stopped the proceeding and rebuked the barrister that to take your own life takes courage above a rational thinking person. As homosapiens we have an in built enate desire to survive, our whole makeup was to fight or flight. To override that basic instinct to take your own life is NOT either cowardly or easy. The mind can only take so much before you breach the rational line. I survived for now, i take each day and look at what i have, but i battle every single day with conditions i cant control. Everytime suicide is discussed its always about those we leave behind, why isn't the focus on the one who didn't get the help needed or felt they couldn't ask for help ????

I think she might have suicide for one reason... maybe she got bronze medal and wanted to get silver or gold? idk but its weird to me that why did she committed suicide in the first place? what have caused this sadness? it cant be mental health issue... i dont think so...

definitely mental health issues, plus stress of competition, sport, travel, overall life, absolutely not because she was desperate for a medal
