He is saying in a way Elliott is being sarcastic by calling the song "im over it now" when the lyrics to the song are pretty dark and intense. One could argue that its clear Elliott is not over it and whatever or whoever the song is about still bothered him. I agree with the original comment in that Elliott has a kind of dark sense of humor with the way he writes his lyrics sometimes @@dafriendlyghost

What I like is comparing the early versions with the finished versions. They start of brilliant and yet he would still refine it until he was happy with the final song. Not that this song has a final version, however the one later solo live version is interesting also.

You can track that tape onto a digital medium without damaging them you know that right? Even just for your own listening they should be better preserved. Even if you just played them through some sort of Amplifier you can then record the amps output.

Tony Lash was a good drummer. He refuses to come in at the fast tempo Elliott or Neil or whoever is playing in the intro and instead comes in at the proper tempo. It's a huge pet peeve of mine when a guitarist does an intro at the wrong tempo and the drummer follows him, then the entire song is played too slow or fast. I was just talking about this on the performance of Under the Bridge by RHCP on SNL. People like to talk about Frusciante bombing but half the reason the song sounds so bad is that Chad Smith comes in at the totally anemic tempo that Frusciante plays the intro at. The entire song ends up sounding like some strange reggae jam or a bad cover of Say it Ain't So by Weezer. Drummers take note: you may not be writing your band's songs but when performing live, you are supposed to be running the show. The other band members should be following the drums, not the other way around- unless your guitar players happen to be named Keith Richards or Jack White.

@@SomeDrummer1995 I'm not a fan of Jack White but I thought it was a good example of a band where the drummer follows the guitarist when they play live (the white stripes). They were the two most notorious examples I could think of.

If you take the time to learn it by ear, you'll be rewarded in a way that you wouldn't have been if someone just told you the chords or gave you a tab. I tried to look up tabs and chords as little as possible when I was growing up and learning the guitar and I'm really glad that I did. I know that we live in an era where instant gratification is prevalent in so many aspects of our lives but if you take the time to learn songs on your own, it'll help your musicianship in ways that you don't even realize. Besides, tabs end up being wrong more often than not.
