Nope. We say E-L-O as in the three letters that start each word in Electric Light Orchestra. Love watching you discover songs that are new to you, but I love it even more when the lights go on in your eyes and smile when you rediscover a song you had heard before and are now learning more about it. Stay safe and well, my brother! :o)

Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra from The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame site: "Picking up where the Beatles left off, ELO expanded the concept of great melodies, epic song structures and grand orchestrations. ELO added an exciting mix of elements into rock and roll, including disco rhythms and electronic studio wizardry. Imagine a marriage of tuneful, rocking pop songs with instruments from the symphonic realm, and you’ve got the blueprint for what made ELO one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and beyond. Jeff Lynne, ELO’s vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, co-founder, and frontman, conceived of a rarefied musical sphere in which cellos coexisted with guitars, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled, radio-friendly pop. The result: ELO’s boundary-breaking approach to rock that resonated with a global audience, both as a pop singles act and as album-oriented rockers with deep-track appeal".

All the late 60s and 70s music crossed right over into the lives of us 80s teenagers, and was still incredibly popular. Our baby boomer parents had the greatest music ever, but a lot of great music was released back when we were kids, so we enjoyed it with our parents. Baby boomers and Generation X are the most closely linked generations, when it comes to music. Now our own kids, raised on it from us generation x'ers, are the newest fans. Timeless!!

So cool to see young people discovering all the great music of the '70s. Unfortunately for them, they don't have the associated memories. This song takes me right back to the mid '70s, cruising around in my GTO with my buddies, getting high, picking up chicks, grabbing some beer, driving out to a swimming hole and skinny dipping, a little "Afternoon Delight", all the while the radio is playing the soundtrack of our wonder years. I'm comfortably retired now but I still have my vintage '70s stereo system and a good collection of vinyl and a few classic muscle cars and hot rods. These things make me smile and remember the good ol' days but if I had the ability, I'd snap my fingers and go right back to being 19 years old in 1975.

I’ve been dropping comments on your channel here and there- I just love that you are discovering fantastic, classic rock music from incredibly talented musicians in the 60s, 70s, 80s-this was THE soundtrack of our lives! Just to give you context, I am 54, graduated high school in 1984, college in 1988- when radio RULED, when the artist’s looks DIDN’T MATTER, because only true talent rose to the top-when we had to choose which music we loved the most (meaning, you didn’t have unlimited money to spend on unlimited vinyl records, albums, cassettes, even...wait for it...8 track tapes!!), when we waited anxiously for a group to play a concert somewhere near us. Anyway, I am thrilled you have discovered the incredible Jeff Lynne, one of the founders of ELO! This man is STILL a genius, in every way-musician, writer, singer, producer-he even re-formed ELO in, I think, 2017 & had a massive tour! If you haven’t already, review “Turn to Stone” by ELO. Also, look up ELO-Wembley or Bust the live concert. It’s way too long to review probably but a thrill to watch!

I fell for my wife 30 years ago almost as hard as she fell for me. Granted, she was giving blood at the time and I kept her from passing out, but it worked out for both of us. True story.

Jamel, I just love your channel. I’ll tell you why. Most people listen to music. That’s not me. I’ve always felt music. You, feel the music. I had a very hard childhood and music was the one thing that I had to calm my nerves and feed my spirit and soul. It always , put a smile on my face, and go to bed at night and say, “tomorrow is a new day, let’s hope it’s better than today”. When it wasn’t, I went into my room immediately upon coming home from school, closed my door, and put my transistor radio on, AM only back then, back on. It was like going to see a therapist, without ever going leaving my room (but we wouldn’t have been able to afford a therapist anyway) way back then,’When I was 7 years old, I found a Macy’s ad (called Bambergers back in the day) in the Sunday paper circulars. I cut it out and taped it to the refrigerator for 3 years. In my lifetime, I never received a more meaningful gift, in all of my life, from then to now, that meant more to me than any and everything. Music fed my soul, as it still does today. It is still the one thing that could change my mood immediately . My reason for the story is that you, as well, feel the music. The band’s name Electric Light Orchestra was just shortened to E L O, just pronouncing the letters! I’m happy you enjoyed it as well

Jeff Lynne once commented that if he didn’t own this orchestra, he wouldn’t be allowed to be in it! He’s in his 70’s and still performing.

The song is about a captivating woman, The song was used in the movie The Virgin Suicides (1999) The Song seems to touch on the compassion and love one feels for another. She's sailing softly though the sun. He wonders if he will see her again. It's a feeling he longs for and he cannot explained.. Its a feeling that can only be called Strange Magik kzitem.info/news/bejne/tKqiqHiwhXllaIY

ELO was my first concert back in 1978 at Madison Square Garden. It was their Turned to Stone tour. Still the best freaking concert I ever saw. The lights were down and all of a sudden this spaceship on the floor of the Garden started lighting up and lazer lights started shooting. All of a sudden, you heard music. The top of the spaceship started to raise and the band rose up out othe ship playing Turned To Stone. Man, what a night.

This band is really worth a deep dive. I had only heard the hits until about 6 years ago I listened to their entire discography and fell in love. "Rock N Roll Is King" is one of my favorites of theirs not many people talk about
