I saw Elton John in concert on his farewell tour. Somehow, I had never heard this song before that concert. When he played it, it was hands down the most incredible live performance I've ever seen. This song live is like a mini-concert in itself. The same could be said for seeing Levon live.

It's my favorite... and it's even more powerful as the opener, which he used it as for 1000s of shows.

Agreed though I am glad to see it not at the top of the set, as it really was almost always there (save for a brief while when he opened with Saturday or Bitch Is Back).

@@JanesCabin Great point. I had to wait a couple of times for the encore when we still had daylight. Outdoor shows have to wait. Thank you for the response.

Let's not forget the drug crazed science teacher on percussion.Ray Cooper is a legend in his own right. Accompanied Elton on a two man concert tour to Russia in 1979. We also saw the concert in Australia ...and it was sensational.

I've seen Sir EJ twice in SLC, UT. When Farewell was COVID postponed, I cashed in my tix! 🙄 This from Blue Moves, I believe. The best 💩 you'll ever hear him play, right here. 👍

This is NOT from Blue Moves, what a insult to Goodbye yellow brick road,s opening track 11minutes plus of the most iconic opening track of any album anywhere in the known universe, followed by Candle in the wind, Bennie and the jets, and goodbye yellow brick road ,the greatest four songs that you could ever find to open a album full of outstanding songs, Blue Moves doesn't even come close to this

He totally rocked this night! He even gave my wife one of his sticks and apparently it's the one he was looking at during the final minute, as it's got a huge gash in it! What a great birthday present for her!

No matter where you are...the grocery store..a restaurant or an Elton John concert... you can hear a bunch non-sensical cackling hens ruining it for everyone.
