@@ksgoalhorns57 Im sure if you were pooping your pants Simon and had to wear nappies on stage, you wouldn't want to be in 'full tour mode' anymore either. Incontinence is serious and Elton has reached the age where he needs to take time out for himself, as the schedule does not allow for his health issues. Pooping on stage into a nappy is very unpleasant.

Since you know stuff like that any idea why there is a 3rd percussionist? Seems like Nigel and Ray have it covered!
@eltontothemax
Жыл бұрын
@@Photoman64 Elton brought Ray back for the FYBR tour for old time’s sake and to add another layer in terms of texture both musically and visually- Ray plays parts that John Mahon doesn’t, eg tubular bells, roto toms, gongs etc. John’s rig includes digital percussion also whereas Ray’s is acoustic. The perc parts are split between them and Nigel concentrates on kit.

Guitar player Davey Johnson is the band leader and musical director. Elton looks to him for his cues.
@eltontothemax

@@ianhewitson2738 partially right; Davey is the MD for the band; however he’s openly said that EJ will sometimes shake arrangements up on the fly so is always primed to follow EJ, with the band following him. I think this particular example was just a simple case of Elton simply coming in a bar early by mistake.

@@chenlung1 I am a massive Elton fan - but he should've quit years ago. He's become an embarrassing parody of himself. He keeps stretching this so-called "final tour" out longer and longer - I think he actually DOESN'T want to go home with the kids ... It's becoming a little tragic. The songs have been dropped a number of semi-tones, his voice is gone, he's still playing piano superbly - maybe he should just tour with guest artists singing his songs. The songs are superlative - but the concerts are now propped up with theatricks (deliberately misspelt). He can hardly walk. The Elton John I want to remember was the one doing handstands on the keyboards. Not this doddery old pretender. And please - someone crack open a Budweiser for that 'thing' on his head. Elton - go home!
