Rocketman is a really good emotional movie. It is about the dark stuff in his life not just the fun stuff. I was touched by it. The family relationship as a child must have been difficult for him. It is part of why he is the great Elton John.

this interviewer was so sweet, a little timid, but all great questions. It's hard to come up with new things to ask with a man that's been interviewed so many times. He did great.

After all that he's been through, Elton is Still Standing, feeling like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid and has been sober now for over 30 years. Well done, Elton. Keep Standing. Your fans will always have your back. Thank you for your kindness and musical brilliance. You're a true star.

My name is Elton Hercules John and I'm an alcoholic and a cocaine addict and a sex addict and a bulimic also I'm a shopaholic who has difficulties with weed prescription drugs and anger management. And I have been sober for more than 30 years and I have not touched alcohol or drugs and I have faced my demons and I have been most happiest man ever since. I will stand by you all the way Elton John congratulations on being sober for almost 30 years I'm glad that you found happiness in your life and also I love the movie Rocketman it's very old and it's very open hearted I think that movie his changing my life as well learning that I was a jerk back then I have addictions I'm trying to get over day by day and how I'm doing that is by decreasing it and eventually not becoming addicted to any of them again plus I saw your message on Twitter the other day about covid-19 it's a shame that I won't be able to see you to your concert in Greensboro but I hope sad when this is over I hope that you can do a song in honor of the victims of covid-19. God bless you Elton John we all love you

Love that Elton's story is one of the few wild rock and rollers that actually has a happy ending. Sadly so many different rockstars are known for their artistic genius as much as their extravagant indulgence and it hasn't always ended well. Think Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Freddy Mercury, John Bonham, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison.... Elton could've died of an OD decades ago. Instead he has been sober since 1990, has a stable life, is happily married with children, and in 2019 we get to enjoy having him around still performing. Pretty cool

And whats great it he uses his experience to help others... there are many many stories of elton conducting an intervention on people he could see who needed help (watch robbie williams talk about his experience of elton making him go to rehab if you haven't), and he's very close to people like ed sheeran who probably has similar experiences to Elton being so huge globally without being in a band so experiencing it mostly alone. Ed has said how Elton has tried to steer him away from anything that could derail him. He's a top guy and I agree with you, it's very nice he had a happy ending eventually, it would have been tragic to lose him too young like so many others.

The best ending of Rocketman would have been if there was a post-credit scene with Samuel Jackson. "'They pay to see Elton John.' You think you're the only rock star out there? You just became part of a much larger universe. I want to talk to you about the Live Aid initiative."

Having Elton express his inner emotions with honesty and courage is refreshing. People who are facing the demons of their family,, their upbringing, their lack of healthy nourishing relationships will find watching this interview hopeful. I kept thinking of the word, HOPE. If he had continued on his destructive path of behavior, "I wouldn't be here for this interview." Hard work brought him back to sanity, a caring relationship and love. Thank you for such a kind interview.
