Thank you for your review. I have been riding an ELVES Falath bike for one and a half year now (frame for rim brakes) and did about 6.700 km. I used it for Gran Fondo races as well as for crits. Its handling is great, when it comes to fast downhill rides or to tight bends; it does not belong to the lightweight frames, but even on hill climbs, it has been serving me well because of its decent stiffness. It is not as fast as a Canyon Aeroad that I also ride, but it is a solid and goodlooking aero bike.

Order custom paint job, should be here in July. So many paint options it was hard to choose. Communication has been great here in Germany so far. I have some nice rims coming and building up some custom aero wheels. Thanks for the review, I haven't heard much from the other channels from those who seem to have done anything 1000km+

It accelerates great for a lardy aero disc bike and the aero feels like cheating at speed. The 28c gp5000's line up with no light bulb on my wheels, and they have a ton of room in the frame. Think I could run 32's. It's weird how the channels are promoting the bike and not really reviewing it. Also, the bars are wicked stiff. Ridiculous stiff.

@@jimmynickelz i may even put 25mm on the front but I had an accident last week which made me appreciate just how poor my local roads are thus perhaps the need for wider tires for the purpose of grip (I'm sure 3mm will make all the difference in this regards :D ). I set up my indoor trainer with the same geometry that I'm planning on getting with the Elves. I went with a stem 1cm shorter than I've been riding with generally as the compact position feels good slightly further inwards. I have pretty durable triceps when it comes to holding an aero position. Saying that, I spent a month dithering about the choice of cockpit, in the end their offer on the handlebars made me take the plunge. Im fitting the bike with red mechanical shifters and force group set. I've ridden both mechanical and hydro and find with a bit more skill mehcnaical disc brakes can be as good. I'm not sure why they are over looked. This also savesa tonne of weight.

@Thomas Ullmann the drop on the bars are going to make you happy you have those healthy triceps. Just got back from a 70mi ride on her. Such an interesting bike. The bars make my 3T aeronovas feel like pool noodles.

Elves has been pushing its marketing budget with youtubers, you see that frame popping up everywhere. These youtubers are incentivized to create content about the bike ASAP, not tell you how it genuinely rides over time. You've been watching ads, basically :)

I’ve got long arms and legs but a short torso and I’ve struggled to get a good fit in a bike forever. How's it holding up a year later? I'm training for my first ironman. Working my way up to 100 miles.. Budget is roughly 3k and the logical thing seems to be get a canyon endurace, but the look of the elves and the thought of messing around on something faster is definitely tempting. If you think pushing 100 miles on this thing wouldn't be a problem then I'm all in. Also would probably put aero bars on whatever bike I go with

If it is going to be your ONLY bike, go with the Canyon. Make sure you get your sizing right tho. The integrated bar/stem makes adjustments tricky. I just got a Lauf Uthald and it doesn't have an integrated bar/stem. Great touring/gravel bike.

Hi, I’ve watched yours and some other videos about this bike a billion times. Great review BTW. I’m 6’2” but have a 32” inseam. Would you consider going a size down like some of the other guys that have reviewed this frame. My size is 59 but I was considering a 56 with a 42/120 handlebar/stem. Thanks!!
@jimmynickelz

Thank you. I wouldn't go a size down because the wheelbase would be even tighter than it already is. The top tube on the xL is much shorter than mine. The top tube on mine is short enough. Even with the 130 stem, it's still short.

Feet overlap? Back in the day, when I rode criteriums, I had a bit of feet overlap, that didn't bother me at all. And I have size 45 (12) shoes. I did have a problem with the toeclips cutting in my big toe though .... 😁. Those days are gone. Btw, what's the wheelbase of the Falath? For me c. 980-985 mm was the correct one, and still is, with the carbon and titanium bikes I ride now.

It's my favorite bike, but it's just not...it doesn't have that snap out of corners. Then again, I don't have as much snap out of corners as I did in the past. It's heavy, the wheelbase is tight, it's really really stiff, and it just doesn't have that punch something like a cannondale has. It's a shop ride/group ride bully though. At speed, it just goes.

hello jimmy want to buy but not sure about the size i,m 6.4 and i found the 61 cm vertical tube to long you had a 59 i figure, do you think it is better 59 over 61 i noticed you have 25mm seat back on the saddle plus the 130m stem could compensate the short top tube . thank you for you advise
@jimmynickelz
Жыл бұрын
As long as you don't have a really long torso, the 59 will be fine. The dimensions on the 61cm are just goofy. There is enough seat post to make the 59cm fit even at 6'4. The only thing you're gonna have to think about is wheel overlap and eventually you kinda forget about that.

It's only when almost at full turn. I'm gonna try a practice crit on it soon and it'll give me an idea of how much clearance it has at race angles. None of my cannondales nor my Propel had overlap issues so this is new and weird for me.
