@bouillonbeefcube When i finally saw Elvis & the Attractions (the tightest band ,besides James Brown's revue)it was on Imperial Bedroom tour in early 82 at the late great Houston Music Hall Brought my own refreshments (a cold bottle of Sohnlein Brilliant, tucked into my trousers / under my sports jacket .Pretty sure didn't fool anyone really lol..He had no opening act .And was now, very professional,no ragged edges-except the rusty switchblade of his lyrics. Right out of the gate , no between song banter with the crowd. And they, played ,EVERYTHING !!!

Thank you for posting this series of brilliant music. Back in the days when music wasnt made out of plastic but handmade by geniusses like Elvis. I hope he will delight us with his gift for a long time. Elvis, please stay healthy, live for a long long time and never stop writing music.

All luck. Oh, OK, genius at work. Unbelievable just how many *great* songs he composed, and coupling this with brilliant performing abilities. Master of Special Looks and Stunning Emphasis Moments (among other things).
This and Talking Heads live in Rome, I don't know which is more awesome.

As a drummer in this dull age in which dumbed-down drumming is the norm and expected, I am quite envious of this gig.

I dunno....Elvis lays down a tempo many times and he pushes way too much. Obviously the rest of the band has the skillz to keep up but it seems kinda selfish on many songs.

Just by the sound of it, I'd say that the drummer punching his right plate is mimicking a station ring bell at 4:10. While the song goes like: "We got to the station about twenty minutes later" Brilliant!!! Cool detail. Not present in the original version. (the same happens at 4:54)

Good on the camera crew for deserved attention to Pete Thomas on drums and Steve Nieve on keys; but (as usual) demerits for pretty much ignoring Bruce Thomas, who also was really killing it on bass.

Great act. Speed galore. Elvis was never better (but different). Anyway: Since some people here made fun of the "lame" audience: This show is not a real live concert in some club, it's was performed for and in a TV studio. The kids sitting around are just furniture. I am not even certain whether they knew ahead of time who was playing that particular night. It's different from the later and legendary Rockpalast festival nights (in which EC appeared again 1983 and in which some drunken idiots really pissed EC off).

The Attractions are one of those stellar backing bands that never get their proper recognition ,because the primary singer/songwriter is flogged off as a singular entity in and of himself. Is Elvis king? No doubt ,but the Attractions are hella wicked in their own right. TIGHT!
