Here is how great Elvis really is. His most creative years were the 1950s. Then he got better. Then he became a legend. Then he died. Now, almost 40 years after his death, he is still the most famous entertainer on Earth. In fact, the three most recognized images in the world are: Jesus, Mickey Mouse and Elvis Presley.

Elvis' early films had songs, but they also had a coherent story that wasn't just ladies man meets hot woman. For me, his best movie in that specific genre was Change of Habit, because it was different. It was more than just a cheesy 60s Elvis musical love story on repeat. But obviously King Creole is probably his best film and best performance, though he was very good even in his debut, Love Me Tender, and his second film, Loving You. I like that in Loving You and some of his films immediately after the army before the Colonel screwed his career over as a serious actor that even though he's a ladies man, he's allowed to be kind of a bad guy. He's flawed. He's not just some pretty boy singer who scores women. He can play kind of a jerk who is so charismatic that you almost like him. There are hints of that in King Creole, where he actually tricks a girl into coming to a hotel room alone with him, obviously for sex, but comes to his senses and decides not to force her into anything. That was a good Elvis movie moment. I find flawed characters much more realistic and interesting than the idealistic, perfect dream man characters he played a lot in the 60s. I would have loved to have seen him play Felix Leiter in a James Bond movie or something opposite Richard Roundtree in the early 70s. Those as a badass crime fighting duo would have been awesome. Elvis was great in fight scenes. He would have been totally believable in those kinds of roles. An American James Bond? Absolutely.

there were rumors after kissing elvis in this movie, and acting with him, playing the part of his girlfriend, that she gave away his baby and went on to be a nun? i don't know what to believe, only if you listen to any of her interviews, she only says, God is bigger than elvis presley, i agree he broke her heart, and anything that she felt for him she also thought was going against her inner self somewhat? she was and is beautiful, ----she once said, 'elvis groamed himself like a wild animal" that was cute, ? sexy , somewhat, but i'm not sure what she wanted to say, other than he was very worldly (manly) in her opinion, i think she knew the real man, and loved him very very much.
@TheCutie9456
8 жыл бұрын
No. That's not true. She became a nun because she had a calling from God. Elvis never broke her heart. They were never a couple. In her book, The Ear of the Heart, she said that during the making of the movie Loving You, Elvis asked Mother Dolores Hart to have dinner with but she rejected him. And yes, she does say that God is bigger than Elvis. Well, it's true, I must say. I agree, she was and is still beautiful. She did love him very much. They remained friends until Elvis' death.
