@@Precogvision what's your opinions n on the qdc anole vx?
@Precogvision

@@TheMasterofComment I don’t think I can link, so if you Google “qdc Anole VX review,” mine is the first result. It’s a very technical IEM, but I don’t like the treble response (sounds fatiguing and plasticky) and it’s too clinical for my tastes in general. Basically one of those IEMs I have to respect, but don’t like very much haha.

Another quality review. The inclusion of EST drivers in an IEM doesn't appeal to me but, it is interesting to hear that they can be competently implemented. I like the gold flourish on this otherwise subtle shell.

Please get your hands on the qdc Anole V14! Previous qdc flagships: qdc Gemini and Anole VX are still some of the top IEMs by technicalities and tuning besting even the 64Audio U12t. The new qdc Anole V14 is an overkill IEM meant to compete with $3000+ IEMs like the U18t, EE Odin, Elysian Annihilator.

Driver flex on a $3600 IEM...
@x-techgaming

@shinigamilord86 So the homemade, more widely available ~$200 Lokahi probably has better bass, and no severe driver flex? If not the ~$250 Nimbus. There you go.
@loonation2185

@shinigamilord86 I diy earphones, and the only reason you could get driver flex on a driver is when you solder it for too long or the temperature is too hot that it affects the membrane. Even the thinnest or poorest driver membrane wouldn't get a flex or a crinkle if soldered correctly. At least in my case.

It happens because most manufacturers don't know how to use sonion est And get acoustic phase inverted Elysian did it right
@Precogvision

I think the main problem is that most weren't dampening the other drivers properly. The ESTs are very insensitive, which is why you'd end up with IEMs that rolled-off hard unless you gave them ridiculous amounts of power. I'm not sure if its acoustic phase like you noted or what, but Elysian definitely got something right that even other, "correct" implementations haven't been able to do.

It happens because the IEM is almost 4k. At that price EST implementation SHOULD be fucking flawless.

@@Precogvision Thank you sir! That's MIGHT be what I need really: I equalize all my iems and headphones: I make a few db dip at around 500-700 hz and raise 3-7 khz by ~8 db. @@erikszilagyi5606 After the $1000 price point is where I find it hard to justify IEMs. The jumps in SQ after that point are there, but I don't think the average person would immediately know if you had them compare on the spot. @Precogvision
3 жыл бұрын
Well, that’s a hot take haha. Even if one can’t quite hear those frequencies anymore, one should still be able to “feel” them. It’s also not just about sheer extension, so much as it the speed and linearity of this treble response - qualities one should definitely be able to benefit from even if they can’t hear that high-up.
@Voidward

@@Precogvision Sure, there's a benefit to the range you can hear, but if I couldn't hear the sub bass on my LCD2c I would be missing out on a lot of the fun. The fact that it extended into that range would be a complete waste. The mid-bass being fast and clear would be great, but still a huge waste on those ears.
@Precogvision
3 жыл бұрын
@@Voidward Maybe I'm not understanding, but mid-bass frequencies are higher up than sub-bas frequencies. So even if you can't hear the sub-bass frequencies, you would still benefit from hearing the mid-bass being fast and clear in the example you gave.
