This song (for some reason) still sounds great. This is quality songwriting.

Always preferred this drum beat on the verses to the one that made the album. More straight on the record.

Newcastle United 1980 - 1994 Video's Me too. This song lead me to buy "The Truth Will Out" AND the "Fireworks" compilation from Poundland (yes, I know... late to the party). I figured I'd better do that in case the single and album were different. Both discs had the album version which I'd never heard before. Lead me to a couple of hours research on KZitem which revealed the band recorded this song 3 times. For those who aren't aware: Version 1 is the self issued single on the Fierce Panda label. Version 2 is the UK EP version on the Hut label. Version 3 was recorded for "The Good Will Out". The version I hear on the radio is version 2. To confuse things, version 3 became the single in America, complete with a new video depicting Danny as an innocent man sent to the electric chair...

@deachick No! Embrace don't try to be anyone, yes they have faults, what band doesn't? What makes Embrace stand out is that they are totally original. On the point of Oasis they would have loved to have wrote a song like this!

Wanna hear the earliest demos by Embrace? Send an email to embracedemos@gmail.com for more info. These are the legendary 3 songs from 1993. Sooner Than You Think, Say It With Bombs and Overflowing. They were recorded at Huddersfields Beaumont Street Studios, and later reviewed in the Melody Maker, as a distillation of The Chameleons, James and U2s live aid performance.

I wouldn't go so far to say 'shit', especially compared with the crappy mobile phone gig videos on youtube.

Liam from Oasis might be iconic but he doesn't have a good voice

This just shows how horrible Embrace is, man his voice really really sucks!! Trying hard to be Oasis, UTTER FAIL.

A bland sorry 'band' with no personality or presence and no conviction in the vocals.... Needs to put more guts into his singing. Could write a song but they sound so average live and his voice sounds so awkward unless it's a ballad. Ie nothing with ferocity behind it. An Embrace that's tame and limp rather than the man hug a band of this nature needs.
