I'd have hooped this differently. Marking the towel, then the stabilizer lying on top doesn't ensure your design is straight. Instead, place the hoop on top of the sticky stabilizer so its stuck to the frame and you can see the frame edge. Then mark your design position on the sticky. Your design will be straight because the stabilizer can't slip. Any residue stabilizer can be soaked off the hoop with warm soapy water. If doing a small design carefully remove finished design...but leave the sticky in the hoop. You'll have a hole in the sticky where your design was. Trim the edges of the hole and patch it with another small piece of sticky and sew out the next design. Sticky stabilizer is expensive and you'll save on a lot of wastage this way. You can even patch the hole with a regular stabilizer.

Do you have to use the sticky stabilizer? I have mixed reviews about this hoop. I just didn't see the magnets pulling it tight. But you use sticky stabilizer also to help hold it tight. Will the magnets not hold tight?

I have used sticky, cut away and tear away without any issues. The magnets are super strong. It doesn’t move.

by using wash away eventually the pile will come through because after the first wash there is no more wash away. You need to use something that can stay in the towel. A tear away or cut away. On the fabric you are using there really isn't a nap like towels so I wouldn't even bother with a topper. Good tutorial though and great design.

Thank you. This particular hoop was $79 on Amazon. But I have seen them as high as $200 depending on your machine. I have been using this one for awhile now and I absolutely think its worth it. I have a hard time using my regular hoop now. The magnet one makes it so fast and easy.

I would make sure it's the right size. It should slide on easily. If it doesn't their might be a problem with the hoop.

I recently bought a magnetic hoop for my PE900 and had similar difficulties attaching it. I watched a few you tube videos and found them helpful. In particular one showed attaching the back first then the front. Just the opposite of how you attach the regular hoop. I don’t remember exactly what video but I searched for attaching magnetic hoop to brother PE 900.
