If all else fails, read the manual. I have a tri-fuel portable generator that I bought in case of a hurricane in Southeast Texas. I have used it during the Texas Freeze a few years ago and occasional outages. I have natural gas for the cooktop, water heater, furnace & dryer. I run the generator on natural gas and it powers most of the house through the electric panel. As a backup, I have two 1408Wh and two 666Wh power stations, and eight 100W rigid solar panels which I made into four suitcases to set up in the back yard. I installed emergency lights that come on when power goes out. They are where I set up the generator, at the electrical panel and in the main hall of the house. I also have some Ryobi flashlights and batteries. I can also run the generator on propane along with my portable griddle. You may want to get some 20lb tanks of LP.

I have this Firman Generator and it is a great unit, that been said I was also looking for something that produced 240 volts and guest what Costco Online also has this other Inverter Generator and it is just as fuel efficient as the smaller firman and in size they are about the same with similar dimensions and weight. The model in question is the A-iPower GXS7100iRD 7100W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator cost about $1,000 and you can power your whole house.

9 minutes in and the generator hasn’t even turned over. Less talk, more substance!
