Had a vehicle ride the stretch of the guardrail on the incoming lane a few days ago, all the way without stopping in my rearview mirror! I was like WT Bleep was that?!

Thanks, now I know how to get away from the copper's.😂🤣 Reminds me of "Hill Street Blues" with all the Mopars. We used to practice in the winter in empty parking lots. Weeeeeeee! 👍

The B&W #11 is a 1969 or 70 Chrysler product, most likely a Plymouth Fury. I learned to drive on one w/ 383 2BB! They handle very well at high speeds, hence Richard Petty's preference for race cars. Mopar or No Car!

None of those tricks on the skid pad will work with todays cars. If you try any of that the traction control will flip the rear end of your car the other way and you hit a wall.

Being a Canadian, that has spent 45 years driving in winter condition in Canada, ID love to try that soap course and see how I would do! After 2 times around it, id be doing 4 wheel drifts and shock the shit out of everyone! That soap can not be anywhere as slippery as black ice at -20F

My whip was a Dodge Diplomat (though my first personal car was a 1971 Plymouth Fury.) Learned a lot in those Dips, especially threshold-braking, which is all but irrelevant these days due to ABS. Still, I'd like to challenge a Charger with a Diplomat, both equipped with the same tires and weighted similarly, in a 60-0 stop. I think it would be a neat contest.

I did that course, which was at the L.A. County fairgrounds in '80. Much the same but the anti lock brakes of todays cars wont work on the skidpan. Did a lot of great training in the exhibition halls there. Loved police work but the politics were starting hold supervisors hostage. The Sheriff was Pitchess & was a great leader.

The terrible cars of mid 70's USA
@kingduckford

Depends on what quality you are focused on. The cars of the 70's were beautiful, and have better ride quality than cars of today. A New Yorker, LTD, Caprice, Continental, Fleetwood of those years is a fun to drive smooth sailing luxury car. Today's cars have been engineered to have their beauty stripped away, and to have every last ounce of ride quality destroyed in the name of sports performance on every level.

They weren't terrible, just cars. They did what they were made to do.
